Red Card to Child Labour: Fair Play for Children, Decent Work for Adults.

Today, on World Day Against Child Labour, EPA joins the global call to end child labour and ensure every child has the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive in a safe, supportive environment.

The 2026 campaign comes at a pivotal moment following the Sixth Global Conference on the Elimination of Child Labour in Marrakech, which renewed global commitments to accelerate action and deliver real results. Despite progress, 138 million children worldwide remain trapped in child labour, including nearly 54 million engaged in hazardous work.

Ending child labour requires collective action through:
Quality education
Strong social protection systems
Decent work opportunities for adults
Effective laws and enforcement
Addressing the root causes of poverty and exclusion

As the voice of parents in Europe, we recognize the crucial role that parents, families, educators, employers, and communities play in safeguarding children's rights and creating opportunities for a brighter future. We reaffirm our commitment to supporting efforts that build more inclusive, equitable, and peaceful societies where every child can reach their full potential.

This World Day Against Child Labour, let's raise the Red Card to Child Labour and turn commitments into meaningful change for children, families, and communities everywhere.

In Europe, 1 in 10 children become victims of online bullying every month, according to the EU Kids Online 2020 survey. The same amount says they never feel safe online.
🔍 EU Kids Online is an international research network working to better understand children’s digital lives: their opportunities, their risks, and how we can keep them safe.
✨ A key insight:
Girls report being victims of cyberbullying slightly more often than boys—but they also say they feel more hurt and upset by these experiences (89% vs. 70%).
📢 It’s time to take action
Protecting children online is everyone’s responsibility. Let’s talk more, listen more, and support young people in navigating the digital world safely.

In kindergarten children learn much more than just numbers and letters. They are learning how to share. How to wait for your turn. How to talk about feelings. How to build friendships.
We believe that it is these everyday experiences that create the foundation for children's confidence, independence and well-being. Through the GrowWell project, as a project carrier, together with partners across Europe we participate in the production of materials and explore how early and preschool education can support children's social and emotional development, in an environment where every child feels safe and accepted!
