The Climate Discourse Lexicon by Carmit Lubanov serves as an analytical and operational framework designed to bridge the gap between ecological imperatives, socio-economic realities, and actionable policy design. Traditional climate communication often suffers from a binary dichotomy—oscillating between catastrophic doomism and technological oversimplification. This Lexicon, developed in frame of our new Think-Tank, introduces a refined vocabulary that conceptualizes climate action through the lens of socio-environmental goals, political feasibility, and structural adaptation, with a particular focus on vulnerable communities and regional contexts such as the Mediterranean basin.
By operationalizing key concepts including Climate Syndrome, Climate Realism, Relative Resilience, and Climate Democracy, this framework provides researchers, policymakers, and civil society stakeholders with common conceptual reference points. These terms enable precise policy evaluation, equitable resource allocation, and participatory governance mechanisms that foster systemic resilience without compromising social justice or economic stability.
