Sport Academy expressed its condolences to the people of the UAE, Arab and Islamic nations and the world on the death of Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed, the President of the country.

The funeral will be on Friday after Maghrib prayer, with all mosques in the UAE holding funeral prayers

Khalifa, the president of the UAE, oversaw much of the country’s blistering economic growth and his name was immortalized on the world’s tallest building, the Burj Khalifa, after bailing out debt-crippled Dubai during its financial crisis over a decade ago.

As the crown prince, Khalifa carried out some aspects of the presidency in a de facto capacity from the late 1990s when his father Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan faced health problems. He succeeded his father as the emir of Abu Dhabi on 2 November 2004 and the presidency of the United Arab Emirates the following day.
