In this video, our alumna Francine Carron reflects on her time at the BSoG, sharing what a typical day looked like and the experiences that made her journey so memorable.
Having gone on to complete several master’s degrees, Francine still considers the BSoG her favourite academic experience. She credits the school’s high-quality education, international network, and strong reputation for opening doors throughout her career. In fact, she notes that the BSoG name often stood out during job interviews, even more than the universities where she pursued her graduate studies.
Watch the full interview to hear why Francine would recommend a BA at the BSoG to anyone looking for an education that makes a lasting impact.

Migration information campaigns have become a prominent component of EU and Member State efforts to control irregularised migration before migrants reach EU borders. As a form of ‘soft’ border control, these campaigns seek to influence migration-related perceptions and decisions by informing potential migrants about opportunities at home, the dangers of the migration route, and the difficulties of life in Europe.
This BIRMM policy brief, written by Dr Omar N Cham, challenges the assumptions underlying these campaigns and unpacks how migration decisions are shaped by different factors of influence, of which information is only one element.
