We’re excited to announce a special workshop brought to you by the Department of Emergency Medicine at UZA! 🚑

Join us for an interactive session exploring the prehospital role of emergency physicians in Belgium, giving you a unique insight into emergency care before patients reach the hospital.

To make the experience even more hands-on, the UZA team will also bring along a MUG vehicle or ambulance, allowing participants to discover the equipment and learn more about the realities of prehospital emergency medicine!

We have a new lecture announcement!
Introduction to Oral, Maxillofacial, and Facial Surgery: science, art, and passion, given by prof. dr. Nasser Nadjmi (University Hospital Antwerp)

Oral and maxillofacial surgery (OMFS) is a multidisciplinary specialty at the interface of medicine and dentistry. This presentation explores its key domains, including dentoalveolar, craniofacial, orthognathic and aesthetic surgery, traumatology, and head and neck oncology. Using clinical cases, it illustrates how OMFS combines functional reconstruction, oncological safety, facial aesthetics, and multidisciplinary care.

We have a new workshop announcement!
Microneurosurgery, hemostasis and neuroanatomy, given by prof. dr. Tomas Menovsky, Head of Neurosurgery department at the Antwerp University Hospital.

In this presentation, the participants will gain insight into the intriguing world of microneurosurgery, hemostasis and neuroanatomy as seen by the surgeon through the surgical microscope.

We have a new workshop announcement!
Performing and Interpreting Spirometry, given by dr. Jo Raskin, Pulmonologist at the University Hospital Antwerp.

This practical workshop provides participants with experience in performing spirometry and interpreting the results. Participants will learn how to perform a technically correct spirometry test, recognize common pitfalls, and apply a structured approach to interpreting spirometric patterns in clinical practice.

Hi everyone!

We have a new workshop announcement!
Inside the Heart – Surgical Anatomy: from Anatomy to Aortic Valve Replacement, given by dr. Jan Coveliers, Cardiac surgeon at the University Hospital of Antwerp.

During this interactive hands-on workshop, participants discover the anatomy of the heart from the perspective of a cardiac surgeon. Using pig hearts, we go through the most important anatomical structures step by step and link them to common surgical procedures. We conclude with a practical simulation of an aortic valve replacement, in which participants perform the essential steps of the procedure themselves.
