As a project team we want to realize an interactive exhibit to show children from age eight to twelve what is nuclear waste, how to store it and what it does to the environment. This explanation needs to be in a way so that children will understand it. This means we have to explain the complex material of radioactivity in a much easier and more attractive way. So they will in a fun way learn about the safety of storage of nuclear waste. The exhibition is going to reflect nowadays technology and due to that it has to be flexible for future generation. By flexible we mean that you can adjust the exhibition when needed, as the technology and interest of human population changes. For our project team we have chosen to name the team and project “Atomic”. This name is inspired by the dynamism of an atomic nucleus, which is the very dense region consisting of protons and neutrons at the centre of an atom. Nuclei are bound together by the residual strong nuclear force and as the same we see our team dynamic and strongly bound together by this project.
