Rescue doesn’t know any holidays

It’s an everyday job. 365 days a year.

Kennels need to be cleaned, animals fed, wounds cleaned, medication given, …

It’s okay to celebrate off course, but it’s not okay to fully skip a day or two because you want to spend this time of the year with your family when all of these animals depend on you.

This may sounds like dramatic sacrifices but it’s reality.

When you choose to step into rescue and commit your life to it, everyday will look the same and nothing alike simultaneously.

The same chores need to be done everyday but you can get a call any minute about an animal in need which makes you drop everything and race over there. Day or night.

It’s hard work, no days off and you sometimes get mentally broken as the cherry on top 😅

But it’s also so rewarding when you see these happy faces without a single care in the world because they know they’re safe and loved.

These pictures/videos were taken exactly two years ago and if I didn’t have my own pups to take care of, I would’ve spend my Christmas happily picking up 💩 this year again.

Merry Christmas everyone 🎄🐶

Volunteering is expensive

By that, I don’t necessarily mean the financial side but the toll it takes on your mental health.

We all know how much joy it can bring to cuddle these dogs behind bars and watch them transform from these shy, neglected creatures into happy, playful and life-loving pups. It’s honestly the best thing ever for me.

But there’s also a dark side to volunteering, a very dark side you don’t always see on the outside…

You get confronted with the worst of humanity; when you think you’ve seen it all there’s another case of neglect and abuse coming at you that makes your mouth drop and your heart shatter. I’m talking about animals beings starved to death, burned alive, shot, drowned, paws that once were broken (caused by the owner or by accident) and never got treated which results in misgrown bones, …

These things might make you shiver when you read them, wait until you see it in real life. It gets imprinted in your brain and you wish you never saw it.

But the truth is: we need to see it. We need to face reality as that’s what it is, the reality.

It’s easy to scroll further when you see these “warning: graphic content” posts because you don’t want to see it but by doing that you do a disservice to these animals.

We can protect our eyes from the abuse but they can’t protect their lives from it. They endure it.

So no, volunteering at an animal shelter isn’t all rainbows and sun shines and cuddling fluffy puppies. It’s a small part of it but there’s way more to it and you need to have a certain “off-mode” when it comes to emotions because if you don’t, you’ll go home heartbroken every day.

Nonetheless, it’s still one of the things I’m most passionate about and something I want to do for as long as I can.

These dogs need a voice and I’m more than happy to be that for them 🧡

5 reasons why you should start your own business:

1. no boss telling you what to do

You are your own boss. No one tells you what to do or when to do it. You’re in charge of your own schedule, working hours and work/life balance. No need to climb the corporate ladder, you’re already your own CEO 😉

2. no alarm

Imagine sleeping in on a Tuesday morning because you have no regular 9-5 job anymore? This doesn’t mean you can just eat-netflix-sleep-repeat without having to work at all. You’re in charge of your own schedule and it’s your responsibility to actually put in the work but you don’t have to participate in the typical morning rush & stay stuck in traffic anymore. You can decide when you wake up, whether that’s 6am or 9am.

3. vacations all year long

We all know going on a vacation is more expensive during the season than off-season. With being your own boss you can book your vacations whenever (& how long/much) you want to because you’re not restricted to the annual holidays of a company.

4. no income cap

Depending on what type of work you do, you can earn as much as you want. There’s no cap like you have when you work for a pay check. You decide for yourself how little or how much money you make. The smarter you work, the more you earn.

5. your dogs are your colleagues

The best part about being you own boss & working from home: your dogs are your colleagues. No more leaving them behind everyday for 9-10 hours. They can snooze on your lap whilst you put in some work and go on plenty of adventures during your breaks.

It’s not rocket science to start you own business. More and more people do it these days because they realize the benefits that come with it and understand that the real scam is working a 9-5 because society tells you it’s ‘too risky’ to be self-employed.

The real risk is working your life away in a job you don’t like to then retire and most likely be too old or sick to do the things you love, if you even make it to retirement…

You’re young now. Take that ‘risk’. Go live YOUR life 🧡

“I don’t know if this online business is for me”

I get that. I had no idea what I was getting myself into when I first came across this business.

That’s why I was so happy to learn there was a training platform where I would learn the in’s and out’s without having the pursue with it if it didn’t feel good. If that was the case, I could just ask for a refund within the first two weeks from signing up & move on with my life.

Luckily, this so-called discovery process allowed me to look at the bigger picture & it all clicked for me: this was (& still is) the perfect business opportunity for me that allows me to create the life I’ve always dreamed of. A life filled with rescue animals and adventures with my own pups whilst contributing to a healthier, more sustainable and plastic-free lifestyle for myself and those around me.

“Sign me up!” was my response & what I did a few days later 😊

So if you also want to see if this business is the right fit for you, I highly recommend you to sign up for the Discovery Process. In this process you’ll get the chance to:

💧 Learn more about the products we work with & why

🐶 See how you can create that financial freedom to do whatever you want (aka help lots of rescue animals 😉)

👥 Get access to our Facebook community and even join some of our weekly team calls

& so much more

There’s no reason why you shouldn’t apply because this might also be the one thing you’ve been looking for your entire life without realising it.

So ask yourself this: what do you have to lose?

You’ll never know if you never try 😉

Why an online business and not just work with animals for money?

I’ve always wanted to work with animals ever since I was a kid. I even studied animal care, which allows me to become a vet assistant or dog groomer.

But I also wanted to help animals in need. To be able to just pack my bags and go to an animal shelter where they urgently need help. This simply isn’t possible when you have to work 8-9 hours a day for a boss or even more to keep your dog grooming salon going.

This is one of the reasons why I decided to take a different route: to create a sustainable online business that doesn’t need me to actively work 8h/day, which gives me the time to plan my day how I want.

Working with animals is great. Doing this 24/7 is even better.

But it is still work at the end of the day. When you have a job that you like and includes animals, it can be great for a while but there’s a risk it will become a burden overtime.

Meaning; you might lose that excitement you initially had because you get faced with reality that working with animals often is a hard thing to do and way underpaid.

The animals become your way to pay the bills and it leaves you with little to no free time for your own pets.

That’s not what I wanted for myself and my dogs. If I want to go to Spain to help at an animal shelter for a few weeks, I just want to do that whilst I keep on making an income from my laptop instead of earning nothing during this period because I decided to become an independent dog groomer or walker.

When I’m not feeling too good and just want to stay inside with my pups, I simply don’t want to have to ask permission from my boss to do so.

There are so many more reasons of why I decided to work online but for now I’m going to leave it at this.

What are your thoughts on this? 🐶

Having an online business was never the goal…

I was the type of person who never posted pictures of herself on social media. I didn’t even have a personal Instagram page before I created this one.

If you would’ve told me a year ago I would be posting pictures of myself and share openly about who I am, I would’ve cringed probably. Aimlessly scrolling on Instagram via a profile that only had pictures of rescue dogs on it, was way more comfortable than actually showing my face.

I wasn’t being creepy, I swear 😂 I just felt okay with ‘hiding’ and not participating in the whole “look at me, my life is perfect” charade as most people on here only share the highlights, not real life.

So when I started to look into ways of working online, I imagined myself doing something like an office job or writing blogs etc. Just anything as long as it meant I could work from home and therefore take my work with me when I would go to Spain to volunteer at the shelters.

I searched for a long time as every job opportunity I came across, ticked one of my boxes (working from home/anywhere) but they were mostly 9-5 jobs so I still had to plan my life around my work. Not ideal if you want to make a difference in the rescue world and a 9-5 paycheck simply isn’t going to cut it when you have these goals in life.

The years went by and after trying out different things and applying for multiple jobs (without ever pursuing with one), I came across this business opportunity.

Long story short: I fell in love with what this business model has to offer and now I get to share it with other people who also have similar goals in life.

The internet can be a big and overwhelming place for people like you and me. But it is also filled with life changing opportunities if you decide to take one step out of your comfort zone.

If it wasn’t for that one step, I would probably still be scrolling for hours every day on that dog profile instead of creating a life where I can be the one who makes the big donations and helps those in need.

So yes, starting an online business wasn’t the goal but it’s been the tool to help me grow into the person I am today and for that I’m so grateful 🧡

Burning-out has been the greatest gift I could receive ❤️‍🩹

I was the type of person who would go, go, go and not care about what my body was trying to tell me.

To me being busy and working all of the time meant I was using my time wisely whilst taking a break gave me anxiety as I wasn’t doing anything useful with my time.

I was working/studying from morning until evening because I thought that was the only way I would succeed. I could only relax once I reached my target but until then, doing things I loved was a no go.

This pattern kept repeating itself until my body literally shut down and I got into what they call a ‘burn-out’.

I was depressed, had zero energy and was in a constant fight or flight mode. My mind kept telling me to work harder whilst my body screamed to rest.

It was after months of therapy that I started to understand how & why it got this far. I learned that working hard doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice your health in order to succeed. You’ll reach your goals way better and in a healthier way if you use your time wisely.

You can stare at your laptop for 3 hours straight not really being productive or you can focus for an hour when you have a creative outburst and feel like you can get things done. It’s not about how much time you put into something, it’s how you use your time effectively in order to get where you want to be.

We get told that we have to work hard in order to get what we want. We’re conditioned to work 40 hours a week to receive a pay check every month. We’re made to believe our time is only worth €16 an hour.

Let me tell you this one thing: your time on earth is priceless. If you’re doing what you’re currently doing causes you to burn out, it’s because you’re not wired to work that way.

We all have a body that gives you hints when you’re going into the wrong direction. Listen to it. You getting sick because you ignored your own boundaries isn’t helping anyone, especially yourself.

Don’t fall into the trap of you having to work non-stop is the only way how you’ll get to where you want to be.

Work smarter, not harder 🧡

Where do you see yourself in 1 year from now on?

Take a moment to visualize this and allow yourself to dream big. No restrictions regarding time or money. Just imagine what your perfect day would look like when your hard work from the past year would pay off.

Now take a look at your current life situation. Is your current job/relationship/situation allowing you to actually achieve that in one year? Or are you going to end up in the exact same place as you are today?

Staying in the same place might seem like the easy way out because working hard sounds like a negative/draining thing to do when it’s not.

That job you’re in is temporarily. You’re most likely a number to your boss and replaced the day after when something happens to you. It sucks even more when you’re working a job 40 hours a week you don’t even like, just to pay the bills.

Your partner or people around you telling your dreams are unrealistic, can f*** off (sorry for my language). Ask yourself; are they living the life you desire? Or are they giving you their ‘advice’ whilst complaining about their own life, not even knowing what they’re talking about or how you start a business in the first place?

Your dreams are worth working for and I’ll be the first person to cheer you on whilst giving you the guidance to reach the goals you want to achieve.

Your life can look completely different one year from now on but nothing is going to change if nothing changes.

It’s your life, your choice.

Adopting him was a mistake

Or so I thought when we first got him.

Juul was so shut down and for weeks the only things he did was eat-pee-sleep repeat. I really thought to myself “Did I make the right choice to get him to Belgium?” when he knew the shelter life for over 2 years and seemed happy there.

Slowly but surely he came out of his shell and after about a month he wagged his tail for the first time when he saw us.

Little things that are normal for every other dog were a huge milestone for Juul. We celebrated every tiny step forward but were realistic that he wasn’t your ‘average’ house dog & probably never was going to be one.

We just let him be himself and loved him for who he was without expecting more.

Then something incredible happened. On December 23rd 2023 I received a message whilst I was at work, including a video: Juul was walking ON A LEAD OUTSIDE OUR HOUSE!

He was absolutely terrified of a leash back in Spain and that was no different when he arrived. 9 months (!) after we got him, he walked on a leash for the first time ever.

From then on, it was like something clicked for Juul. He went from a shy dog sleeping 23 hours a day to a happy puppy who’s excited to go for walkies. Now he even has an attitude and only wants to go for long walks in the forest. When you go for a quick walk around the block, he’ll walk slower like a stubborn kid telling you he’s not pleased with your choice of walk 😂

I never thought in a million years the day would come where this 60kg-bundle of joy would run all excited to me when I get home, knowing where he came from.

Juul is the definition of resilience. When you have patience, never give up & let the things happen when they’re supposed to, you can achieve incredible things and for that I’m so grateful. I knew he was special the first time I saw him but I never knew how big of an impact he would have on me later in life.

Some things take time & you might feel like you’re doing everything right but still not getting anywhere. Let Juul be your reminder that success doesn’t happen overnight. It can take weeks or months before things start to shift but once they do, there’s no way turning back.

Don’t give up 🧡

“Money doesn’t buy you happiness”

A saying that’s being used by the majority of people

To some degree this is true as feeling loved, giving a hug, going for a beautiful walk or your dog happily wagging his tail when you come home are all things you get for free and that make you happy

But there are also a lot of things that have a price tag on it that can make you happy as well & I’m not necessarily talking about materialistic things

For example:
If you go to a restaurant, would you like to pick whatever you want or is your choice based on the price?

When your loved one needs you and you’re on the other side of the world, don’t you want to drop everything and book the first flight home instead of having to say “I wish I could be there for you but I can’t afford it”?

When a dog needs an expensive surgery and it’s a matter of life and death, I’m pretty sure you don’t want money to be the thing that decides whether this dog gets to live or not.

It’s all a matter of perspective and if you’re just like me, you’ll do whatever it takes to live a life where having enough money isn’t a question anymore. It’s a normality to have plenty of it so you’ll never have to say no to an animal in need ever again.

So yes, money can in fact buy you more happiness 🧡

10/11/2024

“It sounds too good to be true”

A thought that popped up in my head when I first came across this business opportunity.

It’s somewhat ‘normal’ to think that way as we get raised to work for someone else for 45 years in order to get some money and free time a few weeks a year.

We’re made to believe that our dreams are exactly what they are, dreams. That they are dreams for a reason as there’s no way you can achieve them with the average job/salary.

Well guess what?

We’re not meant to live an ‘average life’.

We’re here to live our life the way we want to and if that means you have to move in a different direction than most people, so be it.

You can dream big AND live big. You just need the right vehicle to get you there and listen to the people who already have what you want.

So no, it’s not too good to be true. It is good and it it is true, when you’re willing to work for your dreams 😉
