🌟 Making a Difference, One Project at a Time 🌟
What started as a classroom challenge became an inspiring showcase of action, empathy and innovation at our Grade 8 Community Project Fair.
Our students identified real needs within their community and worked tirelessly to create meaningful solutions. Through research, planning, collaboration and perseverance, they transformed ideas into impactful projects while developing valuable skills and a deeper understanding of community engagement.
At the fair, they proudly shared their journeys and accomplishments, demonstrating confidence, creativity and a genuine commitment to making a positive difference.
We are incredibly proud of our Grade 8 students and all they have achieved. Their dedication and passion remind us that even small actions can create meaningful change. 💙

During Digital Citizenship lessons with the school's librarian, Grade 10 students delved into the world of responsible research. Students created citations, captions and references to demonstrate ethical research practices and learned about the importance of Intellectual Property Laws and creator's rights, exploringcase studies that highlighted the positives and negatives of Artificial Intelligence. At the end of the year, they showcased their learning in a debate with their classmates.

Over the past month, our Grade 3 students have had a fantastic opportunity to learn about entrepreneurship from members of our own school community.
Through inspiring talks and real-life experiences, our students discovered what it takes to start and run a successful business.

Kindergarten and Grade 1 students embarked on an exciting creative adventure at the Ekeren Academy for the Moktamee Art and Music Workshop!
The workshop was built around the classic story, “We’re Going on a Bear Hunt”. Students participated in a dynamic mix of drama, art and music activities that brought the classic journey to life. Through these hands-on experiences, our young learners sparked their imaginations, boosted their confidence and developed collaboration skills in a fun, active way.
Thank you to the Ekeren Academy for hosting such a memorable, story-filled day for our young learners!

For their Service as Action project, Grade 6 students participated in a Walkathon on 17 April in Park Hof de Bist to raise money for charity. Students gathered sponsorship from their community and walked to support their chosen causes. They researched and presented different charities before voting on where the funds should go. In the end, they decided to donate the majority of the funds to The Ocean Cleanup and a portion to World Wide Fund for Nature. Altogether, they raised an impressive total of € 2.157!

Before they turn the page to a new chapter, our seniors took to the court one last time for the annual Staff vs Seniors basketball game 🏀🎓 From impressive plays to friendly rivalry, it was the perfect way to mark the end of their journey at AIS.
Thank you to our staff and students for making this tradition so special. We are proud of our seniors and can’t wait to see where the future takes them!
