একদিন যদি খেলা থেমে যায় মধুরাতে,
তবু মনে রেখো......"

বাঙালি মাত্রই সুখে-দুঃখে, প্রেমে-বিরহে বাকরুদ্ধ হয়ে যাঁর আশ্রয়ে ভাষা খুঁজে পায়, তিনিই রবীন্দ্রনাথ। মানবমনের সমস্ত আকুতিই যিনি ফুটিয়ে তুলেছেন ভাষার শৈল্পিক তুলিতে, বাঙালি জীবনের প্রতিটা ক্ষণে যিনি উপস্থিত, তাঁর বর্নিল অক্ষরের বিন্যাসই বাংলা ভাষাকে পৌঁছে দিয়েছে বিশ্ব দরবারে।

বাংলা সাহিত্যাকাশে বৈশাখের এক শুভলগ্নে যে সূর্য উদিত হয়েছিল, তার সমস্ত আলো বিতরণ করে শ্রাবণের এক ভরা বর্ষায় সেই সূর্য অস্তমিত হয়ে যায় বাংলা সাহিত্যকে নিকষ আধাঁরে ডুবিয়ে।

কোনো নীল তিমির,
মহাকাব্যের থেকে
কি এক ফোঁটা রক্ত ঝরে না মাঝরাতে?”

রক্তাক্ত স্মৃতির পলিমাটি পেরিয়ে আজ আমরা দাঁড়িয়ে আছি এক নতুন প্রভাতের তোরণে। জুলাইয়ের সেই উত্তাল দ্রোহের দিনগুলো শুধু একটি অপশাসনের পতন ঘটায়নি বরং প্রতিটি প্রতিবাদী কণ্ঠে নতুন করে গেঁথে দিয়েছে স্বাধীন বাক্‌স্ফূর্তির বীজ।

সম্মিলিত কণ্ঠে অন্যায়কে প্রত্যাখ্যান করার যে স্পর্ধা এ দেশের তরুণ প্রজন্ম দেখিয়েছিল, তা আবৃত্তি ও ভাষার চিরায়ত শক্তিকেই পুনরুজ্জীবিত করে।

জুলাই গণ-অভ্যুত্থানের এই ঐতিহাসিক ক্ষণে, রাজউক কলেজ ভাষা ও আবৃত্তি ক্লাবের পক্ষ থেকে আমরা স্মরণ করি সব বীর শহিদ ও সংগ্রামীদের। কণ্ঠে সুর মিলুক সত্যের, মুক্তির আর চিরন্তন প্রতিবাদের।

কাজী নজরুল ইসলামের এর জন্মবার্ষিকীতে আমরা শুধু একজন কবিকে স্মরণ করি না, বরং এমন এক অদম্য চেতনাকে শ্রদ্ধাভরে স্মরণ করি, যিনি তাঁর লেখনী দিয়ে অন্যায়, বৈষম্য ও সংকীর্ণতার বিরুদ্ধে উচ্চারণ করেছিলেন বিদ্রোহের অগ্নিস্বর। তিনি ছিলেন সাম্য, মানবতা ও স্বাধীনতার কবি, যাঁর শব্দ আজও আমাদের সাহস জোগায় সত্য ও ন্যায়ের পথে চলতে।

নজরুলের কবিতা, গান ও সাহিত্য কেবল শিল্পের নিদর্শন নয়, এগুলো মানুষের মুক্তির কথা বলে, ভালোবাসার কথা বলে, ধর্ম-বর্ণের ঊর্ধ্বে মানবতার এক অনন্য বার্তা পৌঁছে দেয়। তাঁর প্রতিটি সৃষ্টি আমাদের শেখায় কীভাবে প্রতিবাদেও সৌন্দর্য থাকে, আর ভালোবাসাতেও থাকে শক্তি।

বাংলা সাহিত্য ও সংগীতে তাঁর অবদান চিরকাল অমলিন হয়ে থাকবে। তাঁর কণ্ঠে উচ্চারিত সাম্যের বাণী আজও প্রাসঙ্গিক, তাঁর সৃষ্টির আলো আজও প্রেরণা জোগায় নতুন প্রজন্মকে।

As Victor Hugo once wrote, "A mother's arms are made of tenderness and children sleep soundly in them", few words capture so beautifully the comfort, protection and the unconditional love that a mother represents in our life.

Today, we take a moment to honour and celebrate the extraordinary women, whose love, strength and sacrifices shape the foundation of our lives. Their influence extends far beyond the walls of home; it shapes generations, strengthens communities and leaves a legacy of love that time can never change.
