Lion Ferdous Alam Firoz College

i, Prof. Mizanur Rahman, Md. Forhad Ali and freedom fighter Abdul Hamid of Gandina village, Motahar Hossain of Tejpur, Abdul Malek of Polashtoli, Abdul Baset of Dholshimul and some other social workers assembled together and discussed within themselves about the immense need and possibility of establishing a college there. The discussion became fruitful. Consequently they called a public meeting on the 12th August, 2005 at the school premise. The meeting was attended by about 5000 people from nearby 15 to 20 villages. Lion Ferdous Alam Feroz was also present there. However, on behalf of the people, Lion Ferdous Alam Feroz was requested to lead this gigantic mission. Instantly he gladly accepted the proposal and started to materialize the dream of the people. Initially he donated tk 20 lac and build a temporary tin shed house on . 03 acre of land of his own. The college started functioning immediately in this newly built house. However, some kind hearted people also donated much money for this great task. At present the college is located to the north side of the Tangail-Shakhipur link road (metaled and partially Kucha) but the permanent location of the college stands in a land area of 11 acre which is to the southern side of the same road. It will include college building, its play ground, a post office, a bank and some other social welfare institutions. It was a low land but 80% of its filling work has already been completed and the rest of the work will complete very soon. For easy communication, the entire complex is criss-crossed by medaled roads. The complex will be adorned with various trees and plants which will enhance its long lasting natural beauty and will create an ever fresh as well as healthy environment. Moreover, the location is quit free from buzz and bustle- thus it is an excellent home for real education.
