🚩 Congratulations to Professor Dr. Anisur Rahman Anis on his reappointment as the Chairman of the Department of English.

Professor Anis is widely respected for his academic vision, leadership, and unwavering dedication to student development. Throughout his previous tenures, he has driven a series of impactful initiatives that have strengthened the department’s academic foundation.

During his previous tenure, Dr. Anis refurbished the department’s ICT lab, seminar library, and the gallery. Dr. Anis also organized seminars with professors from U.S. universities for students aspiring to pursue higher studies abroad. He played a pivotal role as the chief advisor in establishing the MBSTU English Alumni Network and continues to serve as the chief advisor of the MBSTU English Language Society, where he worked tirelessly to revive the club.

Last year, Professor Anis also arranged the department’s very first student excursion to Sylhet, creating learning experiences for the students beyond the classroom.

We are proud to celebrate this well-deserved reappointment and wish him continued success as he leads the Department towards the betterment of the nation.

This is to inform all concerned that the classes for the MA in ELT and MA in English Literature programs at Mawlana Bhashani Science and Technology University will commence on March 4, 2025.

All students are advised to complete their necessary formalities and be present accordingly. The detailed class schedule will be communicated in due course. For any inquiries, please contact the department office.

The waiting lists of applicants (in order of merit) for the Admission Test 2024 for the MA in English Literature and MA in English Language Teaching programs have been published. Applicants on the waiting lists can complete their admission on February 12 or February 16, 2025, between 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM, subject to vacancy.
