#হাওড়
1. সবচেয়ে বড় হাওড়- টাঙ্গুয়ার হাওড়
2. টাঙ্গুয়ার হাওড়- ‍সুনামগঞ্জে
3. টাঙ্গুয়ার হাওড়- World Heritage (UNESCO ঘোষিত)
4. টাঙ্গুয়ার হাওড়কে ইউনেস্কো ওয়ার্ল্ড হেরিটেজ বলে ঘোষণা করে- ২০০০ সালে
5. হাকালুকি হাওড়- মৌলভীবাজার।

[বিল ও হাওড়ের পার্থক্য মূলত- বিলে সারা বছর পানি থাকে, কিন্তু হাওড়ে সারা বছর পানি থাকে না । শীতকালে হাওড় শুকিয়ে যায়, আবার বর্ষাকালে পানিতে ভরে যায়। বিলের পানির স্তর মাটির স্তরের নিচে থাকে, তাই বিলে সারা বছর পানি থাকে। আর হাওড়ের পানির স্তর থাকে মাটির স্তরের উপরে; মূলত আশেপাশের তুলনায় নিচু হওয়ায় বর্ষাকালে ভরা নদীর পানি হাওড়ে এসে জড়ো হয়। শীতকালে নদীর পানি কমে গেলে হাওড়-ও শুকিয়ে যায় ।]

1. শীতল পানির ঝরনা- কক্সবাজারের হিমছড়ি পাহাড়ে।
2. গরম পানির ঝরনা- সীতাকুণ্ডে।

Scholarship for Doctoral Study

The Department of Aquatic Resource Management at Sylhet Agricultural University in collaboration with Mississippi State University is going to implement a research project entitled “Increasing sustainability and resilience of artisanal fishing communities in Bangladesh” from March 2025. The project authority is inviting application for Ph.D. in Aquatic Resource Management program with scholarship and six months physical attachment in the Mississippi State University, the USA, with financial support.

Eligibility of the Candidate:
• Candidate must be a fisheries graduate having a master’s degree.
• Having all along first division/class or equivalent grade at all level of education.
• The age of the candidates should not be more than 45 years.
• The candidate should also comply the terms and conditions of the Ph.D. program under Sylhet Agricultural University, Sylhet.
• Candidate preferably should be under employment of the Public universities/Research Institutes/GoB officials.
• Excellent communication skill in written and spoken English.
• Excellent in computer literacy with strong analytical ability; preferably with GIS/remote sensing skill.

The candidate should submit an application for the scholarship in prescribed format available at project office (or, email to [email protected]) with a letter of interest and CV. Candidate should have to submit the application duly signed with supporting documents through proper channel (if applicable) to the following address and also a send the soft copy of the application to the email: [email protected].
