The Final Examination of the course “Trial Advocacy and Moot Court Practice” for the students of 4th Year, 2nd Semester, Department of Law, Sylhet International University, was successfully held on 18 May, 2026 as part of the Spring 2026 Semester.

The practical examination transformed the classroom into a realistic courtroom environment, where the students demonstrated remarkable advocacy skills, legal reasoning, courtroom manners, and professional presentation. The performances of the students were highly appreciated by the respected members of the judge panel and attending faculty members.
The judge panel of the examination consisted of:

The Department expresses its sincere appreciation to all the students for their enthusiastic participation and professionalism. Such practical academic exercises continue to strengthen the advocacy and courtroom skills of future legal professionals.

We are incredibly proud to announce the successful participation of our students at the National Research Poster Competition 2026: Axiom Season 1, organized by the Army Institute of Business Administration (AIBA), Sylhet.

Out of the numerous submissions, 8 research posters from our students were accepted and presented under the mentorship of Md. Shawkat Alam Faisal, Lecturer, Department of Law, SIU, at this prestigious national event, securing the highest number of accepted research posters from any university!

Our students' work and presentation skills were highly appreciated by the distinguished panel of judges, marking a significant milestone for the research culture at SIU.

The Mooting Wing of the Department of Law, Sylhet International University has officially launched its Mooting Workshop (Season 2)with an exciting and energetic first session today.

The opening class, “Mooting 101,” was led by Lecturer Maisha Nawar, who brought mooting to life by breaking down its core concepts and walking participants through the full journey of a moot court-from building arguments to presenting them before the bench.

To kickstart the practical phase, participants were also introduced to the Rules of Procedure (ROP) and the moot problem, setting the stage for the upcoming mooting competition.
With active participation, curiosity, and enthusiasm from the students, the session marked a vibrant and promising beginning.

The Mooting Wing looks forward to shaping confident advocates and inspiring excellence in the sessions ahead.

সিলেট ইন্টারন্যাশনাল ইউনিভার্সিটির ব্যবসায় প্রশাসন বিভাগে অফিস সহায়ক হিসাবে কর্মরত জনাব বিশ্বজিৎ কর আজ সকাল ৯:৩০ ঘটিকায় মৃত্যুবরন করেছেন। তিনি দীর্ঘদিন ধরে দুরারোগ্য ক্যান্সারে ভুগছিলেন।

তাঁর মৃত্যুতে ব্যবসায় প্রশাসন বিভাগ গভীরভাবে শোকাহত। আমরা বিদেহী আত্মার শান্তি কামনা করছি এবং শোকসন্তপ্ত পরিবারের প্রতি গভীর সমবেদনা জ্ঞাপন করছি।

মহান সৃষ্টিকর্তা তাঁর পরিবারকে এই অপূরণীয় ক্ষতি সহ্য করার শক্তি দান করুন।

সম্প্রতি আইন বিভাগের শিক্ষার্থীদের নিয়ে একটি মতবিনিময় সভার আয়োজন করা হয়। অনুষ্ঠানে প্রধান অতিথি হিসেবে উপস্থিত ছিলেন সিলেট ইন্টারন্যাশনাল ইউনিভার্সিটির মাননীয় ভাইস চ্যান্সেলর প্রফেসর ড. মো. আশরাফুল আলম। বিশেষ অতিথি হিসেবে উপস্থিত ছিলেন মাননীয় ট্রেজারার প্রফেসর নিতাই চন্দ্র চন্দ এবং আইন অনুষদের ডিন প্রফেসর মো. তুতিউর রহমান। সভায় সভাপতিত্ব করেন আইন বিভাগের বিভাগীয় প্রধান জনাব এ.কে.এম সোহেল হাবিব নওরোজ।

অনুষ্ঠানে শিক্ষার্থীরা আইন বিভাগ নিয়ে তাদের প্রত্যাশা ও অনুভূতি ব্যক্ত করেন।

মাননীয় ভাইস চ্যান্সেলর স্যার বলেন, আইন বিভাগ একটি ঐতিহ্যবাহী বিভাগ; এর মান ও মর্যাদা অক্ষুণ্ণ রাখা আমাদের সকলের দায়িত্ব।

বিভাগীয় প্রধান তার বক্তব্যে উল্লেখ করেন যে, আইন বিভাগ সম্পর্কে বিভ্রান্তি বা ভুল তথ্য যারা ছড়ায় তাদের থেকে সবাইকে সতর্ক থাকতে হবে।

সবশেষে শিক্ষার্থীরা আইন বিভাগকে আরও এগিয়ে নিয়ে যাওয়ার দৃঢ় প্রত্যয় ব্যক্ত করেন। অনুষ্ঠানে উপস্থিত অন্যান্য বক্তারাও তাদের মূল্যবান বক্তব্য প্রদান করেন।
