We are proud to announce that Md. Zahid Hassan, an alumnus from the 2017-18 session of Sylhet Engineering College, has been appointed as the Treasurer for the Canadian Geotechnical Society (CGS) Manitoba Student Chapter.

The Canadian Geotechnical Society is the leading organization for geotechnical engineers and geoscientists in Canada, with over 12,000 members globally. This prestigious society is dedicated to advancing knowledge and fostering collaboration among professionals in the field.

Zahid is currently pursuing his Master’s in Civil Engineering at the University of Manitoba with a research assistant postion in Geotechnical Engineering lab. His new role as Treasurer brings great responsibility, including potentially organizing the next CGS conference in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. We are incredibly proud of his accomplishments and wish him continued success in his journey.
