আমার নিজের অভিজ্ঞতা থেকে যতটুকু পারি share করার চেষ্ট করছি যদিও অনেকের অনেক স্টাইল থাকে মুখস্ত করার অথবা মনে রাখার ।

আমরা বাংলাদেশীরা যখন যেইটা ইচ্ছে করি বা আয়ত্ত্ব করতে চাই টা খুব দ্রুতই করতে চাই । যেমন: তিন মাসে fluent English speaker হতে সবাই চাই , তিন মাসে IELTS ৮.০০ পেতে চাই foundation দুর্বল থাকা সত্যেও । বিষয়টা আমার কাছে এমন যে পাড়া মহল্লার টেপ টেনিস ক্রিকেটার হয়ে সুজা world cup ক্রিকেট এ সেঞ্চুরি করতে চাওয়া । আচ্ছা আমরা কি কখনো ভেবে দেখেছি যে আমার ঠিকমতো আমাদের মাতৃ ভাষা তে কথা বলতে পারি কিনা !? বাংলায় যদি IELTS এর মত কোনো exam নেয়া হয় , আমরা কত পাবো !?

একটা ভাষা ঠিকমতো আয়ত্ত্ব করতে চাইলে যা করা যেতে পারে :

১। প্রতিদিন ৫/১০ নতুন শব্দ শিক্ষা । শুধু মুখস্ত করলেই হবে না , ডেইলি কাজের মাঝে তার প্রয়োগ করতে হবে । Repetition is the mother of all skills ।
পানির ট্যাপ থেকে পরা ফুটা ফুটা পানিতেই দেখবেন সকালে বালতি ভরে গেছে ।
২। বাসার বিভিন্ন লোকেশন এ নতুন , গুরুত্বপূর্ণ শব্দ গুলো লিখে রাখা যেতে পারে । একটা শব্দ বা structure বার বার চোখে পড়লে সেইটা সেট হয় ভালোভাবে ।
৩। আপনি যা শিখবেন তা অন্যকে পড়াবেন , দেখবেন আপনার ব্রেইন এ ভালো করে ইনস্টল হয়ে যাবে । A master learns from students ।
৪। নিয়ম করে প্রতিদিন একটা করে আর্টিকেল পড়তে পারলে অনেক ভালো । যাদের টার্গেট অনেক higher তারা বিদেশি ইংলিশ পত্রিকা বা ম্যাগাজিনে প্রকাশিত আর্টিকেল পড়তে পারেন । The Guardian, BBC , Aeon and so on ।

৫। ভালো গ্রামার এবং স্ট্রাকচার যেই কোনো বক্তব্য এবং লেখাকে স্মার্ট করে তোলে । যেমন: You are poor = আপনি গরীব ।
You are economically poor , You are destitute though you have an innocent mind .
পার্থক্য নিজেই লক্ষ্য করুন।

৬। কোনো শর্ট কার্ট সিষ্টেম এর দিকে না দৌড়িয়ে অল্প অল্প করে নিজের ব্রেইন software update করুন । English বললে বলার মত বলুন | XP windows এর দিন শেষ , নোকিয়া ১২১০ এর দিনও শেষ যদিও তাদের ফাউন্ডেশন এর উপর ভিত্তি করেই আজকের নতুনত্বের আবির্ভাব ।
৭। British council said , "English = food "

There are 10 common phrases which are very useful for you.

1. 24/7 = constantly going on something.
Example :I am working 24/7 on this project.

2.butterflies in my stomach = to be nervous in a good way.
Example : whenever I see her, I have butterflies in my stomach because I like her so much.

3.Draw the line = to stop something.
Example: I have to draw the line in communicating with you.

4.Easier said than done : not as easy as it appears to be.
Example : this work is easier said than done.

5.Every cloud has a silver lining : finding good in every bad situation.
Example : you are fired from work but every cloud has a silver lining, and you will find a better job.

6.Finding a needle in a haystack : almost impossible to find.
Example : finding a job is like finding a needle in a haystack.

7. Fish out of water: to feel out of place.
Example : living in this town, I feel like fish out of work.

8.Go down in flames : to fail suddenly and spectacularly.
Example : you are taking your English test and you go down in flames.

9.Get something off your chest : to talk about something that has been bothering for a while.
Example: I want to get something off my chest.

10.Go to extra mile : to make an extra effort.
Example : I have to go to extra mile for impressing her.
