Introduction
Under the visionary leadership of President Nominee Lion Rozina Akhter Shipa and Secretary Nominee Lion Hassan Mahfuz, the Sylhet City Lions Club is committed to building a stronger, more impactful, and internationally recognized club during the 2026–2027 Service Year.
This strategic action plan focuses on two primary objectives:
- Delivering meaningful and sustainable humanitarian service to the people of Sylhet.
- Expanding and strengthening club membership through a structured recruitment and retention strategy.
Together, these initiatives will reinforce our commitment to the Lions Clubs International motto:
"We Serve"

Part I: Strategic Vision & Organizational Alignment
Core Vision
"Local Service, Global Standards."
Every project undertaken by Sylhet City Lions Club will be professionally planned, documented, branded, and promoted while remaining aligned with the Global Causes of Lions Clubs International (LCI).
Our commitment is to serve the local community while maintaining international standards of excellence and encouraging greater participation from the global Sylheti diaspora.
Strategic Priorities
- Deliver impactful humanitarian service.
- Build an internationally recognized club image.
- Strengthen relationships with Non-Resident Bangladeshis (NRBs).
- Promote transparency, professionalism, and accountability.
- Inspire sustainable leadership and community engagement.
---
Part II: Membership Growth Strategy
Supporting Lions Clubs International Mission 1.5, the Sylhet City Lions Club will implement a structured membership development programme aimed at young professionals, business leaders, entrepreneurs, academics, and community-minded individuals.
1. Every Member Brings a Guest Campaign
Objective
Encourage every member to become a membership ambassador.
Action Plan
- Each Board Member will invite at least three prospective members during the service year.
- General members will also be encouraged to introduce guests to fellowship meetings and informational dinners.
Elevator Pitch Training
Conduct a 15-minute training session enabling members to confidently explain—in just 30 seconds—why they are proud to be Lions.
This simple approach will strengthen word-of-mouth recruitment.
