As the founder of Sirajganj Collectorate School and College Sirajganj.
Md Ebadot Ali sowed the seeds of knowledge and opportunity, nurturing an institution that continues to illuminate the lives of generations. His vision for education remains one of his most profound and lasting contributions, shaping minds and strengthening society.

Throughout his distinguished service, he displayed rare versatility and wisdom. In his roles as Joint Secretary in the Defence and Home Ministries, he played a vital role in safeguarding national security and ensuring internal stability. Later, as Secretary of the Railway Division under the Ministry of Communications, his leadership helped modernize the nation’s transportation system, strengthening connectivity and supporting sustainable economic progress.

His journey was marked not only by achievement, but also by quiet resilience. From October 10, 2011, until his retirement on January 19, 2019, he served as an Officer on Special Duty (OSD) without a new posting as Secretary. Even during this prolonged chapter of uncertainty, his devotion to public service never faltered—reflecting strength of character, patience, and unwavering professionalism.

His service as Deputy Commissioner of Sirajganj, along with his contributions to the Tariff Commission, further revealed his deep engagement in regional governance and national economic strategy. Across every responsibility entrusted to him, Md. Ebadot Ali served with dignity, wisdom, and a profound sense of duty.

Today, on the gracious occasion of his Birthday, we pause to honor not only a distinguished public servant, but a life guided by principle, perseverance, and purpose. His legacy continues to inspire future leaders and stands as a shining example of what it means to serve with honor.

“শিক্ষকতা কোনো সাধারণ চাকরি নয়; এটি একটি আজীবন দায়িত্ব। শিক্ষক সমাজ গঠনে অগ্রণী ভূমিকা পালন করে এবং ভবিষ্যৎ প্রজন্মের মানস, মূল্যবোধ ও দৃষ্টিভঙ্গি নির্মাণ করে। তাই শিক্ষকতার সম্মান আপনা-আপনি পাওয়া যায় না-এটি অর্জন করতে হয় নিজের আচরণ, পেশাদারিত্ব, নৈতিকতা ও দায়িত্বশীলতার মাধ্যমে।” শিক্ষা মন্ত্রণালয়ের মাননীয় উপদেষ্টা অধ্যাপক ড. সি আর আবরার আজ জাতীয় শিক্ষা ব্যবস্থাপনা একাডেমি (নায়েম) এ ২০৬ তম বুনিয়াদি প্রশিক্ষণ কোর্সের সমাপনী ও সনদ বিতরণ অনুষ্ঠানে প্রধান অতিথি হিসেবে বক্তব্য প্রদানকালে এ কথা বলেন। অনুষ্ঠানে সভাপতিত্ব করেন ড. শাহ্‌ মো. আমির আলী। এতে শিক্ষা প্রশাসনের ঊর্ধ্বতন কর্মকর্তাবৃন্দ, প্রশিক্ষণ সংশ্লিষ্ট শিক্ষকগণ এবং কোর্স সম্পন্নকারী শিক্ষা ক্যাডারের কর্মকর্তাবৃন্দ উপস্থিত ছিলেন।

শিক্ষা উপদেষ্টা সদ্য প্রশিক্ষণ সম্পন্নকারী শিক্ষকদের আন্তরিক অভিনন্দন জানিয়ে বলেন, “এই প্রশিক্ষণ শুধু একটি প্রাতিষ্ঠানিক কোর্স নয়; বরং এটি অংশগ্রহণকারীদের জীবনে বন্ধুত্ব, পারস্পরিক বোঝাপড়া ও স্মৃতির এক অনন্য অধ্যায় সৃষ্টি করেছে, যা দীর্ঘদিন তাদের অনুপ্রেরণা জোগাবে।” তিনি বলেন, “চার মাসের এই আবাসিক প্রশিক্ষণ শিক্ষক জীবনের এক বিশেষ সৌভাগ্য। সংসার ও পেশাগত ব্যস্ততার মাঝেও একত্রে শেখা, খেলাধুলা, সহশিক্ষা কার্যক্রম ও পারস্পরিক যোগাযোগ একজন শিক্ষককে আরও পরিণত ও মানবিক করে তোলে। এই সময়ের স্মৃতি ও অভিজ্ঞতা আজীবন সঙ্গে থাকবে, যা ভবিষ্যৎ পেশাগত জীবনে গুরুত্বপূর্ণ ভূমিকা রাখবে।”

তিনি আরও বলেন, “শিক্ষকতার সম্মান প্রতিনিয়ত রক্ষা ও নবায়ন করতে হয়। শিক্ষার্থীদের সঙ্গে সম্পর্ক, সহকর্মীদের সঙ্গে আচরণ, শ্রেণিকক্ষের বাইরের ব্যবহার-সবকিছু মিলিয়েই একজন শিক্ষকের মর্যাদা গড়ে ওঠে। দলীয় রাজনীতি বা ব্যক্তিগত স্বার্থে জড়িয়ে পেশাগত আত্মমর্যাদা ক্ষুণ্ন না করার আহ্বান জানান তিনি।”

বিষয়ভিত্তিক গভীর জ্ঞান, আধুনিক ও কার্যকর যোগাযোগ দক্ষতা এবং শিক্ষার্থীদের বোঝার সক্ষমতার ওপর বিশেষ গুরুত্ব আরোপ করে মাননীয় উপদেষ্টা বলেন, “একজন শিক্ষককে এমনভাবে পাঠদান করতে হবে যেন শিক্ষার্থীরা তাঁর জ্ঞান ও দক্ষতার প্রতি আস্থা রাখতে পারে। শিক্ষার্থীদের প্রশ্ন-তা যত সাধারণ বা অপ্রত্যাশিতই হোক- সাবলীল ও সম্মানজনকভাবে গ্রহণ ও উত্তর দেওয়া শিক্ষকের দায়িত্ব।”

তিনি আরও বলেন, “শ্রেণিকক্ষের বাইরেও শিক্ষার্থীদের সঙ্গে মানবিক যোগাযোগ গড়ে তোলা অত্যন্ত গুরুত্বপূর্ণ। করিডোরে দেখা হলে খোঁজখবর নেওয়া, কোনো শিক্ষার্থী মানসিক চাপে থাকলে সহানুভূতির সঙ্গে কথা বলা-এই ছোট ছোট আচরণই একজন শিক্ষকের প্রতি শিক্ষার্থীদের আস্থা ও ভালোবাসা তৈরি করে।”

বক্তব্যে তিনি দুর্বল শিক্ষার্থীদের প্রতি বিশেষ মনোযোগ দেওয়ার আহ্বান জানান। শিক্ষা উপদেষ্টা ড. সি আর আবরার বলেন, “শিক্ষাদানের লক্ষ্য কেবল মেধাবীদের এগিয়ে নেওয়া নয়; বরং যারা পিছিয়ে আছে, তাদের শেখার প্রক্রিয়ায় সম্পৃক্ত করে সামনে নিয়ে আসাই একজন শিক্ষকের প্রকৃত সাফল্য।”

বর্তমান সামাজিক ও রাজনৈতিক বাস্তবতার প্রেক্ষাপটে শিক্ষার্থীদের সঙ্গে আরও সংবেদনশীল ও সম্মানজনক আচরণের প্রয়োজনীয়তার কথা উল্লেখ করে তিনি বলেন, “সম্মান কেবল পদ বা জ্যেষ্ঠতার বিষয় নয়- প্রতিটি মানুষই সম্মানের দাবিদার। শিক্ষক, শিক্ষার্থী, কর্মচারী—সকলের সঙ্গে সম্মানজনক আচরণই একটি সুস্থ শিক্ষাপ্রতিষ্ঠানের ভিত্তি।”সময়ানুবর্তিতা, নিয়মিত ও সময়মতো ক্লাস গ্রহণ, পরীক্ষা ও মূল্যায়নের স্বচ্ছতা এবং শিক্ষার্থীদের জন্য পর্যাপ্ত সময় দেওয়ার ওপর গুরুত্ব দেয়ার জন্য শিক্ষা ক্যাডারের কর্মকর্তাদের প্রতি আহবান জানান।

বক্তব্যের শেষে শিক্ষা উপদেষ্টা বলেন, “নতুন বাংলাদেশ গড়ার যে স্বপ্ন ও আকাঙ্ক্ষা তরুণ প্রজন্ম লালন করছে, সেই স্বপ্ন বাস্তবায়নে শিক্ষকরাই হচ্ছেন ভবিষ্যৎ নির্মাতাদের নির্মাতা। এই মহান দায়িত্ব যথাযথভাবে পালনের মধ্য দিয়েই একটি মানবিক, ন্যায়ভিত্তিক ও মূল্যবোধসম্পন্ন সমাজ গড়ে উঠবে।”

তিনি সনদপ্রাপ্ত সকল শিক্ষককে পুনরায় অভিনন্দন জানিয়ে তাঁদের ভবিষ্যৎ কর্মজীবনের সাফল্য কামনা করেন ।
