The Wait is Over: Our First PYP Exhibition Begins Today

Today marks a proud milestone for our Grade 5 students as they present their very first PYP Exhibition.

After six weeks of inquiry, research, collaboration, and hard work, our young learners are ready to share their learning journey with the community. From exploring real world issues to developing meaningful solutions, they have shown curiosity, commitment, and a genuine passion for learning.

The Exhibition will begin at 10:30 AM, and we warmly invite our parents, families, and community members to join us in celebrating the achievements of our students. Alongside their research projects, students will also showcase their second STEM activity, demonstrating creativity, innovation, and problem solving skills.

We are incredibly proud of our Grade 5 learners and excited to see them confidently share their ideas and actions with the world.

A proud milestone for Smart Innovations School!

Today, our very first IB PYP Grade 5 batch successfully presented their Virtual PYP Exhibition, marking a memorable moment in our school's journey. What made this experience even more special was the opportunity to collaborate with two fellow IB PYP schools from different parts of the world.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Miss Cris Henderin, IB PYP Coordinator of SKT International School Riverside Campus, Myanmar, and Miss Swati Kar, Grade 5 Teacher of International School Riyadh, for joining us and supporting our young learners.

Our students confidently presented their research on SDG 4: Quality Education and SDG 15: Life on Land, demonstrating their inquiry, research, communication, and critical thinking skills. The highlight of the event was the engaging Question and Answer session, where students responded thoughtfully and showcased the depth of their understanding.

This virtual exhibition provided our learners with valuable international exposure, helping them build confidence, broaden their perspectives, and connect with a global learning community.

We are incredibly proud of our students and look forward to seeing them shine again during their Face-to-Face PYP Exhibition this Tuesday.

As we come to the end of the Academic Year 2025–26, our Head of School, Mr. Syed Radib, and Head of Primary, Md. Rezuan Chowdhury, had the pleasure of meeting with parents across different grade levels to reflect on the year's learning journey.

The sessions provided a valuable opportunity for parents to share their feedback, insights, and experiences. Mr. Syed Radib also shared exciting upcoming plans and events for the school community.

As part of our Grade 2 Sharing the Planet Unit of Inquiry, students demonstrated their understanding of the central idea, “All living things have an equal right to share natural resources,” through a creative comic strip project focused on forests and trees.

Students created a 5-frame comic strip showing how trees provide important resources such as shelter, space, shade, and habitats for many living things. Through their stories, they illustrated a conflict caused by trees being cut down, explored the impact on animals and their environment, and showed how cooperation and responsible action can help protect shared natural resources.

Using detailed illustrations, captions, and dialogue, students communicated how living things are interconnected and depend on forests for survival. Their comic strips highlighted the importance of working together to solve problems, protect natural resources, and ensure that all living things can benefit from a healthy environment.

This learning experience encouraged students to think deeply about environmental responsibility while developing their creativity, communication, and problem-solving skills. We are proud of our young learners for demonstrating empathy, collaboration, and a commitment to caring for the natural world.

From Curiosity to Conservation: Exploring Life on Land Through the Sundarbans!

As part of their PYP Exhibition (PYPX) inquiry into SDG 15: Life on Land, Grade 5 students participated in a virtual interview with the Director of the Sundarbans Eco Village. The session began with a documentary that introduced students to the Sundarbans ecosystem, its biodiversity, the challenges faced by local communities, and the conservation efforts being carried out in the region. The documentary helped students build background knowledge and generated thoughtful questions for the interview.

Following the documentary, students learned about the work of BEDS (Bangladesh Environment and Development Society) and its initiatives to protect the Sundarbans and support local communities. They inquired about conservation projects, community development programs, and how the organization receives funding to sustain its work. Students discovered that BEDS collaborates with various partners and supporters to implement environmental and social initiatives.

At the end of the interview, students asked how they could contribute to the work of BEDS. The Director encouraged them to promote environmental initiatives, share inspiring stories and experiences, raise awareness among others, and become active advocates for protecting nature. This meaningful learning experience helped students develop a deeper understanding of environmental responsibility, community action, and the importance of conserving life on land for future generations.

Learning about different learning journeys inspired empathy, respect, and caring in our young learners!

As part of their PYP Exhibition (PYPX) inquiry into SDG 4: Quality Education, Grade 5 students visited Proyash to explore how children with diverse learning needs are supported in their educational journey.

The visit began with a documentary that introduced the school's mission and the various programs designed to support students' academic, social, and personal development. Students then toured the campus and observed different learning environments, including classrooms, the library, therapy rooms, sensory garden, art and craft spaces, and vocational training areas. They learned how therapy services support students in developing communication, motor, social, and daily living skills according to their individual needs.

They were particularly inspired to see students engaged in sewing, craft-making, and other vocational activities that help develop independence, confidence, and life skills. The learners also learned about the achievements of students who participated in the Special Olympics and proudly represented their school.

Throughout the visit, our students gained a deeper understanding of how specialized resources, dedicated teachers, and individualized support help students thrive and reach their potential. The experience encouraged them to reflect on the importance of ensuring that every learner receives the support they need to succeed.

By interacting with the environment and learning about the school's programs, the students demonstrated empathy, respect, and caring while broadening their perspectives on quality education. They left with a greater appreciation of the different ways schools can support learners in meeting their individual needs and achieving success.

As part of their Unit of Inquiry, Sharing the Planet, Grade 3 students took meaningful action by creating placards that promote peace, kindness, and positive relationships within the community.

With great enthusiasm, students designed and crafted messages that reflected their understanding of how respectful interactions can help create a more harmonious world. This activity empowered learners to exercise student agency by making their own choices, expressing their ideas creatively, and taking ownership of messages that matter.

Throughout the learning experience, students strengthened their communication, social, and self-management skills while collaborating with their peers and sharing their perspectives. They demonstrated the Learner Profile attributes of being Caring, Communicators, Principled, and Reflective as they explored ways to make a positive impact on the people around them.

Our Nursery Creative Team has been actively exploring the concept of recycling through hands-on learning and imaginative activities. Using everyday recyclable materials, our young learners transformed items that are usually discarded into meaningful and creative projects.

They designed a wall clock using a cake board, created a frog craft and a pen holder from tissue rolls, made a juice glass from a plastic bottle, and built a bird feeding tray from an egg box.

Through this engaging project, children developed creativity, fine motor skills, problem-solving abilities, and environmental awareness. They discovered that many items we throw away can be reused in innovative and purposeful ways.

Grade 1 students at Smart Innovations School took part in an enriching guest speaker session as part of their Unit of Inquiry, “How We Express Ourselves.” The session featured Ms. Kushee Chakma, a respected member of the Chakma community, who shared valuable insights into Chakma culture.

Students explored different aspects of cultural life, including traditional dress, food, housing, language, family traditions, and the vibrant Biju Festival. This authentic learning experience helped them develop a deeper understanding of cultural identity, traditions, and the importance of diversity.

Our young learners actively engaged throughout the session by listening attentively, asking thoughtful questions, and sharing their reflections. The experience nurtured respect, curiosity, and appreciation for the rich multicultural heritage of Bangladesh.

Future Eco Heroes: Children Explore Plant Life and Sustainability

At KG, Smart Innovations School, as part of our Unit of Inquiry, “Sharing the Planet,” our young inquirers explored the importance of plants and how plantation helps protect and sustain our planet. To understand why planting trees and plants is essential for the environment, the children learned about germination and the life cycle of a plant.

After watching a video and engaging in a hands-on activity, they carefully filled cups with soil, planted seeds, and watered them. Through sequencing flashcards and class discussions, they learned that a seed first germinates, then grows into a seedling, sprouts, and finally develops into a healthy plant.

This meaningful learning inspired the children to take action. They discovered that plants are living things that need care, love, sunlight, water, and air to grow. The students showed responsibility by planting their own seeds and making a promise to nurture them daily. As caring and knowledgeable learners, they eagerly observed changes in their plants and joyfully shared their discoveries with their peers.

Through this experience, the children developed a deeper appreciation for nature and understood the vital role plantation plays in maintaining a healthy planet. They recognized that plants provide oxygen, support all living things, and help create a greener environment. Just as plants need the right conditions to thrive, all living beings depend on a balanced and healthy environment.

By connecting their learning to real-life action, the children gained a stronger understanding of how they can contribute to caring for the planet by planting and protecting greenery around them. Through this meaningful inquiry, they took positive steps toward becoming responsible global citizens who care for the world they live in.
