Tori School in JU

"তরী" জাহাঙ্গীরনগর বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ে অবস্থিত একটি সামাজিক ও স্বেচ্ছাসেবী সংগঠন। ক্যাম্পাস ও এর পার্শ্ববর্তী এলাকার সুবিধাবঞ্চিত শিশুদের শিক্ষা প্রদান ও আর্থিক সহায়তার মাধ্যমে আত্ন-উন্নয়নে কাজ করে এই সংগঠন। 'আলোর পথে আমরা' এই স্লোগানকে ধারণ করে ২০০৮ সালের ২৮ এপ্রিল তরী তার যাত্রা শুরু করে। দীর্ঘ পনেরো বছর ধরে নিরলস ও নিরবচ্ছিন্নভাবে এই সেবা দিয়ে যাচ্ছে তরী। বর্তমানে এই সংগঠনে শিশু শ্রেণী থেকে দশম শ্রে

ণী পর্যন্ত প্রায় অর্ধ-শতাধিক শিক্ষার্থী রয়েছে। আমাদের নিয়মিত কার্যক্রমের মধ্যে রয়েছে- সপ্তাহে তিন দিন (শনিবার, সোমবার, ও বুধবার) বিকেলে শিক্ষার্থীদের পাঠদান করানো। এ ছাড়াও শিশুদের মানসিক বিকাশের লক্ষ্যে খেলাধুলাসহ বিভিন্ন সামাজিক ও সাংস্কৃতিক অনুষ্ঠানের আয়োজন করে থাকে তরী। এই সকল আয়োজন সুষ্ঠু ও সুন্দরভাবে পরিচালনার জন্য, নিবেদিতপ্রাণ ৩২ সদস্য বিশিষ্ট একটি কার্যকরী কমিটি কাজ করে যাচ্ছে নিয়মিত।


তরীর লক্ষ্য ও উদ্দেশ্য:

কর্ম এলাকার সুবিধাবঞ্চিত শিশুদের আর্থ-সামাজিক অবস্থার কাঙ্খিত পরিবর্তন সাধনের জন্য স্থায়ী উন্নয়নের মাধ্যমে আত্ননির্ভরশীল, সুখী ও সমৃদ্ধশালী অবক্ষয়মুক্ত সমাজ গঠন করা।

-শিশুদের নিরক্ষরতা মুক্ত করা
-শিশুদের পার্শ্ববর্তী মূলধারার বিদ্যালয়ে ভর্তিকরণে সার্বিক সহযোগিতা করা
-শিশুদের একাডেমিক শিক্ষা গ্রহণে সহযোগিতা করা
-খেলাধুলার পরিবেশ সৃষ্টি করা
-সু-স্বাস্থ্য নিশ্চিতকল্পে ফ্রি চিকিৎসার ব্যবস্থা করা
-বাল্য বিবাহ রোধে সভা-সেমিনার ও গণসচেতনতা সৃষ্টি করা
-সুস্বাস্থ্য নিশ্চিত করতে পর্যাপ্ত পুষ্টিকর খাদ্যের ব্যাবস্থা করা
-ঈদসহ বিভিন্ন অনুষ্ঠান উপলক্ষে নতুন পোশাক পরিচ্ছদ প্রদান করা




Tori is a social and voluntary organization based in Jahangirnagar University. Tori works for self-development by providing education and financial support to the underprivileged children of the campus and its surroundings. This organization started its journey on 28 April 2008 and has been doing this voluntary work tirelessly and uninterruptedly for fifteen years. Currently, there are more than fifty students attending this organization, with ages ranging from preschool to those in the tenth standard. Our regular program involves teaching students in the afternoon on three days each week: Saturday, Monday, and Wednesday. Additionally, Tori organizes various social and cultural programs including sports for the mental development of children. To ensure the smooth ex*****on of these events, a functional committee comprising 32 dedicated members actively participates in the management process. Goals and Objectives:

Our mission is to establish a self-reliant, happy, and prosperous society free from poverty through sustainable development, bringing about the desired change in the socio-economic status of underprivileged children in the working area.

-To eradicate children's illiteracy.
-To provide comprehensive support for the enrollment of children in nearby mainstream schools.
-To offer academic assistance to children in their learning journey.
-To establish a conducive sports environment for the children's physical development.
-To provide free medical treatment, ensuring their well-being.
-To organize meetings, seminars, and public awareness campaigns to prevent child marriage.
-To ensure proper nutrition by providing adequate and nutritious food.
-To supply new clothes for various events, including Eid celebrations.
