On 25th, April, 2024, The Center for Social Innovation and Foreign Policy (CESIF) hosted a seminar in Kathmandu, Nepal, titled "Reflecting BRI: Experiences and Lessons from South Asia."

It is with great honor that we share that, our Center Director and Coordinator, 𝐌𝐫. 𝐌𝐨𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐦 𝐁𝐢𝐧 𝐌𝐨𝐭𝐚𝐡𝐞𝐫, attended the event as a speaker, to discuss Bangladesh's perspective on and experience with the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI). His presentation was titled "𝑩𝒂𝒏𝒈𝒍𝒂𝒅𝒆𝒔𝒉'𝒔 𝑬𝒙𝒑𝒆𝒓𝒊𝒆𝒏𝒄𝒆 𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒉 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑩𝑹𝑰".

We truly are proud of his ever expanding academic experiences.

It was a delight to witness the sagacity of both Executive Director, BCIPA, 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐟𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐨𝐫 𝐒𝐡𝐚𝐡𝐚𝐛 𝐄𝐧𝐚𝐦 𝐊𝐡𝐚𝐧 and our esteemed Research Fellow 𝐌𝐚𝐣𝐨𝐫 𝐆𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐍𝐚𝐲𝐞𝐞𝐦 𝐀𝐬𝐡𝐟𝐚𝐪𝐮𝐞 𝐂𝐡𝐨𝐰𝐝𝐡𝐮𝐫𝐲 at the Editor's Guild Discussion for Channel 71.

The hot topic was the recent border activity at the Bangladesh-Myanmar border region, the current state of conflict in the Rakhine State and the persistent Rohingya Crisis.

On 30th December, 2023, The Bangladesh Center for Indo-Pacific Affairs held an Informal Breakfast Meeting with the Ambassadors of the Gulf, Middle East and MENA region for a fruitful discussion about the BCIPA-Middle East initiative. The talks included emphasis on maritime connection between Bangladesh and their countries, government-to-government relations, strengthening ties, Bangladesh' stance regarding the ongoing Israel-Palestine Conflict as well as how to collectively move forward ensuring shared prosperity.

All in all, it was a very fruitful meeting. Everyone in attendance left with more insight gathered and an accompanying smile.

Congratulations to our Program Assistant, Fairoz Maliha Afra, who achieved the opportunity to attend Johns Hopkins University, US for a Masters Program. The University offered her to attend her first year at the Bologna campus in Italy and the second year in their Washington DC campus, USA.

The Center takes pride in her self-achieved accomplishments.

The 𝐁𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐥𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐬𝐡 𝐂𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐨-𝐏𝐚𝐜𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐜 𝐀𝐟𝐟𝐚𝐢𝐫𝐬 (𝐁𝐂𝐈𝐏𝐀) commemorates its collaborative South Asian Workshop with the 𝐍𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝐄𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐒𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐀𝐬𝐢𝐚 𝐂𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐜 𝐒𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐢𝐞𝐬 (𝐍𝐄𝐒𝐀) under the Strategic Security Network from August 28th - 30th, 2023.

Distinguished fellow from the NESA Center 𝐃𝐫. 𝐇𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐚𝐧 𝐀𝐛𝐛𝐚𝐬, Distinguished Fellow 𝐀𝐦𝐛𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐚𝐝𝐨𝐫 𝐅𝐚𝐫𝐨𝐨𝐪 𝐒𝐨𝐛𝐡𝐚𝐧 and more prestigious delegates and intellectuals from home and abroad (India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bhutan and the US) participated in the consecutive events.
The events were enlivened by the diplomats/participants/guests mingling, having a laugh and conducting formal and informal conversations with each other.

It was truly a worthwhile event! We miss you all!

As part of a momentous project, The BCIPA’s Communication and Engagement team, led by 𝐑𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐛 𝐀𝐡𝐦𝐞𝐝 and 𝐌𝐨𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐦 𝐁𝐢𝐧 𝐌𝐨𝐭𝐚𝐡𝐞𝐫, is spending hours in the remote mountains of CHT studying and documenting the lives of the local communities that will feature in our Center’s geopolitics discourse. We will publish an interesting document in December 2023.
