Bangladesh Center for Indo-Pacific Affairs

Bangladesh Center for Indo-Pacific Affairs BCIPA has been founded by the faculty members of the Department of International Relations, Jahangirnagar University, Bangladesh.

The Bangladesh Center for Indo-Pacific Affairs (BCIPA) is a multidisciplinary international affairs research and academic platform devoted to studying the Indo-Pacific region. BCIPA seeks to examine the challenges surrounding security and foreign policy development in the Indo-Pacific region and contribute to academic discourse and public policy debates focusing on how to address multilayered geop

olitical and geostrategic challenges and complex tensions among the Indo-Pacific countries. It does this by undertaking rigorous research, facilitating dialogues and high-level stakeholder engagements, and providing training to researchers and public policy practitioners.

On July 29th, 2025, the Bangladesh Center for Indo-Pacific Affairs (BCIPA) held a seminar titled "𝐈𝐦𝐩π₯𝐒𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐒𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐔𝐒 π“πšπ«π’πŸπŸ π‘πžπ π’π¦πžπ¬ 𝐨𝐧 𝐁𝐚𝐧𝐠π₯𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐬𝐑-π‚π‘π’π§πš π‘πžπ₯𝐚𝐭𝐒𝐨𝐧𝐬" at the Department of International Relations, Jahangirnagar University. Dr. Mohammad Maruf Hasan, Associate Professor, School of International Studies, Sichuan University, China, was the Guest Speaker, while the event was coordinated by Mostakim Bin Motaher, Associate Professor, Department of International Relations, Jahangirnagar University. The Seminar introduced interesting and thought-provoking ideas on improving Bangladesh-China relations amidst the ongoing US tariff regime targeting almost all countries of the Indo-Pacific. The discussion produced both discourse and debate amongst those in attendance. All in all, a very effective seminar in improving awareness about Bangladesh's notable external relations.
