BCIPA has been founded by the faculty members of the Department of International Relations, Jahangirnagar University, Bangladesh.

On 30th December, 2023, The Bangladesh Center for Indo-Pacific Affairs held an Informal Breakfast Meeting with the Ambassadors of the Gulf, Middle East and MENA region for a fruitful discussion about the BCIPA-Middle East initiative. The talks included emphasis on maritime connection between Bangladesh and their countries, government-to-government relations, strengthening ties, Bangladesh' stance regarding the ongoing Israel-Palestine Conflict as well as how to collectively move forward ensuring shared prosperity.

All in all, it was a very fruitful meeting. Everyone in attendance left with more insight gathered and an accompanying smile.

Distinguished fellow from the NESA Center 𝐃𝐫. 𝐇𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐚𝐧 𝐀𝐛𝐛𝐚𝐬, Distinguished Fellow 𝐀𝐦𝐛𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐚𝐝𝐨𝐫 𝐅𝐚𝐫𝐨𝐨𝐪 𝐒𝐨𝐛𝐡𝐚𝐧 and more prestigious delegates and intellectuals from home and abroad (India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bhutan and the US) participated in the consecutive events.
The events were enlivened by the diplomats/participants/guests mingling, having a laugh and conducting formal and informal conversations with each other.

It was truly a worthwhile event! We miss you all!

As part of a momentous project, The BCIPA’s Communication and Engagement team, led by 𝐑𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐛 𝐀𝐡𝐦𝐞𝐝 and 𝐌𝐨𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐦 𝐁𝐢𝐧 𝐌𝐨𝐭𝐚𝐡𝐞𝐫, is spending hours in the remote mountains of CHT studying and documenting the lives of the local communities that will feature in our Center’s geopolitics discourse. We will publish an interesting document in December 2023.

On October 14th, 2023, The Bangladesh Center for Indo-Pacific Affairs (BCIPA) initiated a launching Ceremony for a book titled "𝐁𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐥𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐬𝐡-𝐌𝐲𝐚𝐧𝐦𝐚𝐫 𝐑𝐞𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐀𝐦𝐢𝐝𝐬𝐭 𝐑𝐨𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐲𝐚 𝐂𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐬: 𝐀𝐧 𝐄𝐯𝐚𝐥𝐮𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐓𝐡𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡 𝐑𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐞𝐜𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐞𝐱 𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐨𝐫𝐲" authored by 𝐌𝐚𝐣𝐨𝐫 𝐆𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐌𝐝 𝐍𝐚𝐲𝐞𝐞𝐦 𝐀𝐬𝐡𝐟𝐚𝐪𝐮𝐞 𝐂𝐡𝐨𝐰𝐝𝐡𝐮𝐫𝐲 SBP, OSP, SUP, psc, PhD (Retired),
Senior Research Fellow, BCIPA. The event was held at The EMK Center, Gulshan, Dhaka.

General Ashfaque showcases his analytical prowess through his dissection of the ongoing Rohingya Refugee Crisis in Bangladesh, and how it is affecting the socio-political dimension of the Bangladesh-Myanmar relations through the lens of security analysis.

The program included a panel of distinguished members from the Academia of Bangladesh who had shared their reviews of the book. The esteemed panelists were Professor 𝐃𝐫. 𝐈𝐦𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐳 𝐀𝐡𝐦𝐞𝐝, Department of International Relations, Dhaka University, 𝐋𝐭. 𝐆𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐌𝐝. 𝐌𝐚𝐡𝐟𝐮𝐳𝐮𝐫 𝐑𝐚𝐡𝐦𝐚𝐧, OSP, rcds, ndc, afwc, psc, PhD (Retired), Professor 𝐃𝐫. 𝐀𝐛𝐝𝐮𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐡 𝐇𝐞𝐥 𝐊𝐚𝐟𝐢, Department of International Relations, Jahangirnagar University, and 𝐃𝐫. 𝐓𝐚𝐬𝐦𝐢𝐚 𝐏𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐨𝐛, Chairperson, Department of International Relations, Jahangirnagar University. Bangladesh Center for Indo-Pacific Affairs (BCIPA) invites you to the publication ceremony of the book titled “Bangladesh-Myanmar Relations Amidst Rohingya Crisis: An Evaluation Through Regional Security Complex Theory".

The book has been authored by Major General Nayeem Ashfaque Chowdhury, SBP, OSP, SUP, psc, PhD (Retired) and Senior Research Fellow, BCIPA.

Some precious moments from the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Bangladesh Center for Indo-Pacific Affairs (BCIPA) and the SOUTH ASIA FORESIGHT NETWORK(SAFN) of WASHINGTON DC, USA, for purposes of enhancing mutual understanding and friendship between the parties and the promotion of friendly, cooperative and collaborative institutional relations.

The session had the intention to bring the ever increasing situations of tension in the Indo-Pacific region, bring further focus on the Rohynga refugee crisis, the conservation of the Bay of Bengal region, and so on.
