Department of Law, Dhaka International University Organizes LL.M. Orientation Programme 2026
The Department of Law, Dhaka International University, organized the LL.M. Orientation Programme 2026 for the students of the LL.M. (1 Year) – 53rd Batch and LL.M. (2 Year) – 43rd Batch on 25 September 2026 at the DIU Moot Court Room. The programme marked the formal commencement of a new phase of postgraduate legal education for the newly enrolled students and provided an opportunity to familiarize them with the academic environment, institutional values, faculty members, departmental activities, and opportunities for advanced legal study and research at Dhaka International University.
The programme was graced by the presence of distinguished academic leaders and senior officials of the University. Prof. Dr. Zahidul Islam, Vice-Chancellor, Dhaka International University, attended as the Chief Guest. Prof. Dr. ATM Mahbubur Rahman, Treasurer, Dhaka International University, Prof. Rafiqul Islam, Registrar; and Prof. Shah Alam Chowdhury, Director, Student Welfare attended as Special Guests.
The programme was chaired by Prof. Dr. Abdullah-Al-Monzur Hussain, Dean, Faculty of Law and Chairman, Department of Law, Dhaka International University . The programme was also attended by respected faculty members, officials, and students of the Department.
In their respective addresses, the Chief Guest and distinguished guests emphasized the importance of postgraduate legal education in cultivating advanced legal knowledge, critical and analytical thinking, research capacity, professional competence, ethical integrity, and a deeper understanding of justice and the rule of law. They encouraged the newly enrolled students to pursue their LL.M. studies with academic commitment, intellectual curiosity, professional discipline, and a sustained engagement with legal scholarship.
The speakers further highlighted the importance of legal research, academic discourse, advocacy, professional development, and ethical practice in shaping competent and socially responsible members of the legal profession. The students were encouraged to actively participate in academic and co-curricular activities and to utilize the opportunities available at the University for their intellectual and professional development.
The orientation programme was conducted in a formal, welcoming, and academically enriching environment. Through meaningful interaction between the students, faculty members, and University officials, the programme introduced the newly enrolled students to the academic culture and institutional ethos of the Department of Law. It also served as an important platform for fostering academic engagement and inspiring the students to pursue their postgraduate education with a commitment to excellence, integrity, research, and professional responsibility.
