সংক্ষেপে Simple, Complex এবং Compound Sentence চেনার উপায়ঃ
Simple Sentence
Finite Verb:
এরূপ বাক্যে একটি মাত্র finite verb/ Main verb থাকে |
Conjunction:
এরূপ বাক্যে কোন Conjunction থাকে না। তবে phrase হিসাবে in spite of, despite, because of, owing to, too…to, Gerund(V1+ing), being, having, preposition + (V1+ing) etc. থাকতে পারে।
যেমন: In spite of his poverty, he is honest.
Complex Sentence
Finite Verb:
এরূপ বাক্যে একাধিক finite verb/ Main verb থাকে|
Conjunction:
এরূপ বাক্যে Sub-ordinate conjunction হিসাবে why, though, although (যদিও), because, since, as, that, if, when, what, so that, in order that, who, till, until, before, after ইত্যাদি থাকে।
যেমন: a. When I was eating, he came. b. If you read, you will learn. c. The police dispersed the people who gathered around the deceased.
Compound Sentence
Finite Verb:
এরূপ বাক্যে একাধিক finite verb/ Main verb থাকে|
Conjunction: এরূপ বাক্যে Co-ordinate conjunction হিসাবে and, or, nor, but, yet, so, therefore, both…and…, otherwise, either---or----, not only ---- but also ইত্যাদি থাকে।
যেমন: Study hard otherwise, you will fail.
He is poor but (he is) honest.
