Today, we proudly celebrated World Intellectual Property Day 2026 at Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur. The program was organized by the Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), BRUR, highlighting the importance of innovation, creativity, and the protection of intellectual property in fostering academic excellence and sustainable development.

The theme of this year’s celebration, “IP and Sports: Ready, Set, Innovate,” emphasized how intellectual property drives innovation and creativity in the world of sports, inspiring new ideas, technologies, and opportunities for youth.

Many students from different departments actively participated in the program, making the event lively and engaging. Students also shared their valuable experiences, ideas, and expectations, expressing their visions for the future development of the university—particularly in enhancing research opportunities, innovation, and a supportive academic environment.

The program was graced by the honorable Chief Guest, Professor Dr. Md. Showkat Ali, Vice Chancellor of Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur, and chaired by Professor Dr. Md. Tajul Islam, Director of IQAC, BRUR. The session was further enriched by the valuable insights of the distinguished discussants, Professor Dr. Md. Ferdous Rahman and Professor Dr. Abu Reza Md. Towfiqul Islam. In addition, the Additional Directors of IQAC, BRUR were also present, which added further significance and strength to the program.

This celebration reminds us that empowering students and protecting creativity are essential for building a progressive and knowledge-driven society. Let us continue to promote innovation and uphold intellectual property for a brighter future.

=ANNOUNCEMENT=

The Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Begum Rokeya University is going to organize a workshop titled “The Establishment of Innovation Hubs in Universities Across Bangladesh” on September 24, 2025.

If there are any student-related clubs or volunteer organizations outside of departments at Begum Rokeya University interested in participating, one representative from each club or organization is requested to contact the IQAC office (Administrative Building, 2nd Floor, Room No. 112) by 4:00 PM on September 22, 2025.

আজ মঙ্গলবার (১০ ডিসেম্বর, ২০২৪) সকাল ১০ ঘটিকায় একাডেমিক ভবন-২ এর সিএসই বিভাগের ভার্চুয়াল ক্লাসরুমে ইন্সটিটিউশনাল কোয়ালিটি অ্যাসুরেন্স সেল (আইকিউএসি), বেগম রোকেয়া বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়, রংপুর এর আয়োজনে শিক্ষকবৃন্দের জন্য 'Future and Prospect of Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur' শীর্ষক একটি কর্মশালা অনুষ্ঠিত হয়েছে। কর্মশালায় প্রধান অতিথি হিসেবে উপস্থিত ছিলেন বেরোবি, রংপুর এর মাননীয় উপাচার্য প্রফেসর ড. মোঃ শওকাত আলী। তিনি প্রধান অতিথির বক্তব্যে বলেন,উচ্চশিক্ষায় গুণগত মান নিশ্চিত করতে গবেষণায় গুরুত্ব দিতে হবে। বিশ্বের সাথে তাল মিলিয়ে শিক্ষা ব্যবস্থা যুযোপযোগী করতে পারলে অদূর ভবিষ্যতে বেগম রোকেয়া বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় আন্তর্জাতিক র‌্যাংকিংয়ে ভালো অবস্থানে থাকবে।
কর্মশালায় মূখ্য আলোচক হিসেবে উপস্থিত ছিলেন ড্যাফোডিল ইন্টারন্যাশনাল ইউনিভার্সিটি, ঢাকার মাননীয় উপাচার্য ও বেগম রোকেয়া বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়, রংপুর এর প্রতিষ্ঠাকালীন উপাচার্য প্রফেসর ড. লুৎফর রহমান। তিনি বলেন, মহিয়সী বেগম রোকেয়ার নামে নামকরণ করা এই বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় উত্তরবঙ্গকে আলোকিত করছে। এই বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়কে এগিয়ে নিতে হলে একাডেমিক কার্যক্রমের পাশাপাশি এক্সট্রা কারিকুলার এক্টিভিটিসেও শিক্ষার্থীদের সম্পৃক্ত হতে হবে। তিনি আরও বলেন, বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের বিদ্যমান বিভাগগুলিতে অন্তত শতকরা ২০ ভাগ বাংলাদেশ অ্যাক্রেডিটেশন কাউন্সিলের সনদ থাকলে সেটিকে ভালো মানের বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় হিসেবে গণ্য করা হয়। এটি অর্জনের জন্য বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের নিজস্ব প্রচেষ্টা ও পরিকল্পনা থাকা জরুরি। আইকিউএসির পরিচালক প্রফেসর ড. মোঃ তাজুল ইসলামের সভাপতিত্বে অনুষ্ঠিত কর্মশালায় সাবেক উপ-উপাচার্য প্রফেসর ড. সরিফা সালোয়া ডিনা, বিভিন্ন অনুষদের ডিন, বিভিন্ন বিভাগের অধ্যাপক ও বিভাগীয় প্রধানগণ অংশগ্রহণ করেন। কর্মশালাটি সঞ্চালনা করেন আইকিউএসির অতিরিক্ত পরিচালক ড. মোঃ আব্দুল লতিফ।

ইন্সটিটিউশনাল কোয়ালিটি অ্যাসুরেন্স সেল (আইকিউএসি), বেগম রোকেয়া বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়, রংপুর এর আয়োজনে নিরাপত্তা শাখায় কর্মরত কর্মচারীদের জন্য ‘পেশাগত দায়িত্ব ও কর্তব্য’ শীর্ষক প্রশিক্ষণ অনুষ্ঠিত হয়েছে। আজ বৃহস্পতিবার (০৫ ডিসেম্বর, ২০২৪) সকালে একাডেমিক ভবন-২ এর ভার্চুয়াল ক্লাসরুমে বেরোবি ইন্সটিটিউশনাল কোয়ালিটি অ্যাসুরেন্স সেল (আইকিউএসি) এর পরিচালক প্রফেসর ড. মোঃ তাজুল ইসলামের সভাপতিত্বে প্রশিক্ষণে আলোচক হিসেবে বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের রেজিস্ট্রার ড. মোঃ হারুন-অর-রশিদ, সহকারী প্রক্টর মোঃ আব্দুল্লাহ্-আল-মাহবুব এবং রিসোর্স পার্সন হিসেবে রংপুর মেট্রোপলিটন পুলিশের উপ-কমিশনার (সিটিএসবি) মোঃ হাবিবুর রহমান উপস্থিত থেকে বক্তব্য প্রদান করেন। আইকিউএসি-এর অতিরিক্ত পরিচালক ড. মোঃ আব্দুল লতিফের সঞ্চালনায় প্রশিক্ষণে নিরাপত্তা শাখায় কর্মরত কর্মচারীবৃন্দ অংশগ্রহণ করেন।
