The Rangpur Technical School and College is one of the biggest Technical School and College in Bangladesh by its student enrollment. At present about 1800 students are enrolled, which is increasing year by year. Passing rate is increasing rapidly and maintaining a good record in BTEB. The institute is recently received an international accreditation from Asia Pacific Accreditation and Certificatio
n Commission (APACC) which makes another distinguishing feature for the institute. The RTSC has been included in the `Banglapedia, the Bangladesh Encyclopedia’ as an education heritage of Bangladesh in their new version-2009. The institute is maintaining its academic and extra academic activities with concerning the national standard and comparing with the regional and international standard of TVET system.
1865 – Established as Rangpur Artisan School
1887– Renamed as Gobindalal Technical Institute
1889– Renamed as Bayley Gobindalal Technical School.
1920– Approved as Government Institution, renamed as RangpurTechnical Institute.
1964– Established Rangpur Polytechnic Institute in the same Campus.
1982– Established Rangpur Vocational Training Institute.
2003– Upgraded and renamed as Rangpur Technical School and College.
