IFTAR MAHFIL 2026

In the spirit of the blessed month of Ramadan, we are pleased to invite all current club members and executives to a special Iftar Mahfil. This gathering aims to bring together our vibrant club community for an evening of unity, reflection, and shared blessings.

Students from both the School and College sections who are not currently affiliated with any club are also welcome to join the Iftar Mahfil through prior registration.

Let us reconnect, strengthen our bonds, and celebrate the values of togetherness that define our ULAB community.

"OUT OF GAZA-SAMAR ABU ELOUF"

Samar Abu Elouf is an award-winning Palestinian photojournalist based in Gaza. Her work documents events where she lives, focusing on gender, women’s, and children’s lives, and the consequences of war, covering the events unfolding around her.

Since 2010, she has worked as a freelance photojournalist on assignment for Reuters, The New York Times, and other international outlets. She documented the 2018–2019 Great March of Return and, in May 2021, covered the 11 days of fighting between Israel and Hamas, during which more than 230 people were killed, including several of her relatives. Abu Elouf is the 10th Anja Niedringhaus Courage in Photojournalism Award recipient and the World Press Photo 2025 Photo of the Year winner.

1.Mahmoud Ajjour, 9 years old, had both arms amputated in a bombing in Gaza City, Gaza, Palestine, and is now receiving treatment in Qatar. 28 June 2024.

2.Ruba Abu Jibba lost an eye during shelling as her family was fleeing Israeli tanks in Gaza, Palestine. She and some other badly wounded Gazans survived a war that has killed tens of thousands. They made it out for medical treatment in Qatar. Photographed in Qatar, on 6 September 2024.

3.Basant Al-Louh suffered chemical burns, shrapnel wounds to her face, and an amputated ear. She also lost her parents in the bombing of their home in the city of Deir al-Balah in the central Gaza Strip, Gaza, Palestine. Photographed in Qatar, 21 August 2024.

4.The child Dareen Al-Bayaa, 10 years old, and her brother Kenan Al-Bayaa, 5 years old, are the only survivors of their family. They lost 70 members of their family, all of whom were first- and second-degree relatives, including their mother, father, and grandparents. The photo was taken in their apartment in the State of Qatar. 11 August 2024.

🔹 Top 10 participants will be selected from each category
🔹 Total 20 participants will qualify for the Final Round

📘 All questions will be prepared from the Official Olympiad Resource Book.
Participants are advised to study the resource book carefully, as questions will be common from the listed chapters.

The full panel of ULPC is receiving a commemorative honor from Professor Dr. Abu Borhan Mohammad Badruzzaman, Vice-Chancellor of the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), and Professor Dr. Md.
