Spartans' Communication Club

SCC is the flagship Business and Communication Club of the FBS, University of Dhaka Spartans' Communication Club is the Flagship Communication Club of FBS, DU.

It was established on 18th August 2009. SCC organizes workshops, seminars, and interactive sessions on particular communication areas by inviting professional trainers. It is run by a cross-department team and formed to assist the students in developing their communication skills to lead them and prepare them for the business world. It regularly organizes business competitions, hosts roadshows for inter-university competitions, arranges educative sessions conducted by professional trainers for university students all over the country. For all of its prolific accomplishments, the club has already built a community. It works as a bridge between FBS and other university students by bringing them together in a common platform.

Every humanitarian mission begins with a simple belief: Every life is worth saving.

Not for recognition. Not for reward. But because somewhere amidst the chaos a life is waiting for help. Humanitarian workers venture into the very places where catastrophe and despair have stripped down life. With conviction as their guide, they enter where fear prevails. Yet, sometimes those who step into the darkness to save others never find their way home.

That courage has a history written in loss. In 2003, the United Nations headquarters in Baghdad was struck by a devastating bombing, claiming the lives of 22 humanitarian workers who had come not to fight but to serve. Their lives were cut short in the very place where they had chosen to stand beside humanity.

In their memory, August 19 was designated as World Humanitarian Day in 2009 by the United Nations General Assembly. Their fate exposed a sobering truth that for those who dedicate themselves to help others, compassion can demand the ultimate sacrifice.

Today, we remember the 22 lives lost in the pursuit of a greater cause. We honour those who continue to confront suffering at its most unforgiving, choosing courage over fear and service over self-preservation.

We're aware that you've tried doing this, maybe at a street corner, outside of some cafeteria, or perhaps even at your very own campus.

In fact, we may just hit the nail on the head if we say that it's to attract your favourite feline friend, who may (or unfortunately may not) entertain your efforts and give a glance back. If you're extra lucky, you might get a small roar (Meow), and if you're having a great day, they may just come over to you for some headpats (belly rubs too if it's the best day ever).

If that pawed pal is residing at your home, then that's more than a daily occurrence, not to mention the extra effort they put into rearranging your interior, making biscuits, planning a tour all by themselves, and playing the role of your therapist. Wait, you've got more than one? The more, the merrier then! Regardless, if you're trying to poke some beans today, then we would like to remind you that it's indeed a special day...

কিছু দিন সংখ্যা হয়ে আসে না, আসে শপথ হয়ে।
কিছু তারিখ সময়ের গণ্ডিতে আবদ্ধ থাকে না, ইতিহাসের গভীরে চিরস্থায়ী হয়ে যায়।
৩৬ জুলাই তেমনই এক নাম ,যেখানে ক্যালেন্ডারের সীমাবদ্ধতা হার মেনে যায় মানুষের সাহস, প্রতিবাদ আর আত্মত্যাগের কাছে।

সেদিন রাস্তাগুলো শুধু পথ ছিল না; ছিল বিবেকের মিছিল।
স্লোগানগুলো শুধু শব্দ ছিল না; ছিল অন্যায়ের বিরুদ্ধে উচ্চারিত সত্যের ভাষা।
আর যে রক্ত মাটিতে মিশেছিল, তা কোনো পরাজয়ের রঙ নয় তা ছিল ভবিষ্যৎ প্রজন্মের জন্য লেখা এক অমোচনীয় অঙ্গীকার।

যতদিন অন্যায়ের বিরুদ্ধে একটি কণ্ঠ উচ্চারিত হবে,
যতদিন স্বাধীনতার অর্থ শুধু একটি শব্দ নয়, একটি দায়িত্ব হয়ে থাকবে,
ততদিন ৩৬ জুলাই বেঁচে থাকবে হয়তো ক্যালেন্ডারের পাতায় নয় কিন্তু বাংলার মানুষের চেতনায়।

We often carry quiet battles, telling the world we are “fine” because explaining the weight feels too heavy. The truth is, not every pain has words.

That's when we need a friend. Not someone who has all the answers, but someone who is willing to sit for a coffee.

May we all have that one person to whom we never need to say, “I am not okay”. Instead, all we have to ask is, “Do you have like, 8 minutes?” and they will instantly know we are not asking for their time but a call for help and time to put down the armor.

Sometimes, being there is the answer. Sometimes, those 8 minutes hold the hope of a lifetime.
To the ones who make us feel not lonely, Happy Friendship Day!

Welcome to the family, 31st!

After a rigorous recruitment process, it was only fitting for the newest recruits to receive a grand welcome, and that is precisely what they received. On 18th July 2026, Spartans’ Communication Club hosted the orientation of its latest probationary members, the 31st batch.

The event commenced with an eye-soothing dance performance on Tagore’s song and continued with fun games and performances that set a lively tone for the evening. The atmosphere was further elevated by the members and recruits embracing the theme to the fullest, which was ‘Retro Bollywood’. From the outfits to the energy, the venue truly felt like a film set from the 90s.

Throughout the event, the 31st displayed incredible enthusiasm, keeping the energy high and making the evening all the more memorable. As the red carpet was finally rolled away, the day came to a close with laughter, newfound bonds, and the beginning of a new journey for the youngest members of the Spartans family.

Every legacy has a starting point. Wrapped in the magic of Bollywood retro, we welcomed the newest members of our Spartans’ family with an afternoon filled with laughter, a little bit of drama, engaging games, singing at the top of our lungs, dancing, and conversations that turned introductions into connections.

It was the beginning of bonds that will grow into unforgettable memories. Now that the cast is complete, it's time for the real show!
