UDAF is the only registered Business and Communication Club of Faculty of Business Studies (FBS), DU

The motivation for establishing this club arose out a realization that modern corporate world is being changed in every moment. In order to cope up with the change we believe that along with a healthy CGPA it is also at least equally crucial to have good communication skill and up-to-date knowledge about the current business affairs, which in turn will help to secure a good job that means a good c

areer, in fact. We also believe that each of the students of AIS department does have some inherent skills and potentials but due to unavailability of a common platform we cannot share those among us. In these circumstances, as per our belief, the presence of a club can have a significant role to mitigate or even eliminate all these problems. Lastly, we feel that developing stronger ties with corporate body is vital to strengthen our diversity and promote to the outsider. Upon understanding this fact, we have been motivated to take the initiative to establish a club. OBJECTIVES:

•To ensure a strong network & interaction among the members of club.
•To create an corporate environment in the club & formulate the behavior as well exposure keeping pace with the Corporate Code of Conduct (CCC) & practice thereof.
•To build a wide & sustainable network with business persons and entity.
•To network with organizations those have business interests in Bangladesh. This would enhance member’s understanding of business issues and help explore career opportunities
•To maintain an ongoing support network for members and alumni of A&IS, enabling them to network and share experiences with current as well as incoming members.
•To bridge the gap between the students & the teachers of the department through organizing different events or seminars.
•To represent our department to the corporate world with excellence & perfection.
•To be the pioneer in the area of creating quality business leaders. Scope of ACTIVITIES:

•Organizing Business Seminars with the presence of different successful Business People, Entrepreneurs, and Intellectuals.

•Organizing workshops/seminars on:
#Case Solving;
#Business Plan Writing;
#Resume Writing and Interview Tips
#Effective Presentation Designing & Techniques of Business Presentation;
#Use of Computer Applications for Business Environment;
#And on any other area related with the Business activities.

•Arranging intra-university and inter-university Business Plan Competitions, Quiz Competitions, Case Solving Competitions, debate competition etc.

•Publishing Business Magazine half-yearly which will include the articles of both teachers’ and students’.
•Organizing round-table discussion in participation of the members on special business events taking place in both local and global arena.

•Organizing Field Trip/ Office Visit/ Study Tour/ Industrial Tour to gather practical knowledge about the business world, current issues, and different management practices.

• Arranging regular meeting to discuss about the activities and management of the club.

•Providing information to the students about regional Business Competitions. BENEFITS to General Members:

•It will facilitate a common platform to have a good interaction among the members, the effect of which will be on the future career path of our lives.

•It will be a good place to practice leadership skills & experience regarding how to organize & how to be organized. Members will come to know about the attributes of a successful business leader e.g. pro-activeness, professionalism, dedicated to work, appreciation of other’s performance.

•Members will be habituated with the Corporate Code of Conduct before stepping to there from this club.

•Since it will be a gathering of different levels of students (BBA 1st year to MBA), knowledge & experiences will flow among the students. Thus, the knowledge base of the members will be wider.

•Members will get entrepreneurship skill by participating in business plan competition.

•Members will develop the communication and presentation skill through different seminars conducted by business professionals and trainers.

•Members will know the mechanism of career planning through the career planning workshops.

•It will help members to be up to date about the changing financial condition and issues both local and international arenas by arranging financial quiz competitions.

•Members will have the opportunity to share their own thoughts by writing articles in the half-yearly Magazine of the club.

•Students will learn morality, ethics and patriotism through circle discussion

•It will raise awareness among the members that to be successful in the career only the good academic result is not enough, but extra-curricular activities are also necessary.

•The club will avail each member’s CV via website which will help the students to find jobs after completing their study.

•Members will be able to know the available scholarships applicable for them both locally and internationally.

•Through normal operation of the club & different workshops members will be able to improve their skill in English.

•New comers or junior members generally lack proper guidance about career planning. The club will avail a counseling board to help the members to formulate their career planning.

১৯৭১ সালের নভেম্বর মাস। দেশের সর্বত্র মুক্তিযোদ্ধাদের গেরিলা আক্রমণে বিপর্যস্ত পাকিস্তানি বাহিনী পিছু হটতে শুরু করেছে। স্বাধীন বাংলা বেতার কেন্দ্রে এসব খবরই শুনছিল সুপ্রভা। গত নয় মাস ধরে চারিদিকে মুহুর্মুহু গুলির শব্দ, গণকবর খোঁড়ার সংবাদগুলো শুনে নিজেকে স্থির রাখতে পারছিল না সে। তারও ইচ্ছে করতো যুদ্ধে যেতে, দেশের স্বাধীনতায় অবদান রাখতে। মুক্তিযোদ্ধাদের অদম্য সাহসিকতার গল্প শুনে সুপ্রভা বিশ্বাস করতো এই দেশ একদিন স্বাধীন হবে। যদি দেশ স্বাধীন হয় তাহলে কী করবে সেই নিয়ে কত স্বপ্ন দেখতো ছোট্ট মেয়েটা। অধিকাংশ মানুষই ঢাকা শহর ছেড়ে দেশের বিভিন্ন জায়গায় চলে গেছে। কেউ ছেড়েছে দেশ। তবে সুপ্রভা ও তার পরিবার ভয় না পেয়ে তাদের বাড়িতেই রয়ে গেছে।

একদিন হঠাৎ তাদের বাড়ির দরজায় কড়া নড়ল! ঠক- ঠক- ঠক! এখন দরজায় কড়া নড়লেই মনে হয় হয়তো হানাদার বাহিনী এসেছে। ভয়ে ভয়ে দরজা খুললেন সুপ্রভার বাবা। খুলে দেখলেন দরজায় দাঁড়িয়ে হাঁপাচ্ছে একজন যুবক। তাকে তাড়াতাড়ি ঘরে ঢুকতে দিলেন তিনি। মা পানির গ্লাস এগিয়ে দিয়ে জিজ্ঞেস করলেন, "তুমি কে বাবা?" সে বললো তার নাম শফিক। তার নেতৃত্বে একটি গেরিলা দল পাকিস্তানি বাহিনীর বিরুদ্ধে যুদ্ধ করছে। সুপ্রভার মা তাকে নিজ হাতে রান্না করে খাওয়ালেন। এরপর শফিক ও তার গেরিলা দল প্রায়ই লুকিয়ে লুকিয়ে আসতো সুপ্রভাদের বাড়িতে। ঠিক তেমনি এসেছিল ডিসেম্বরের শুরুতে কোনো একটা দিনে। কিন্তু এবার আর শেষ রক্ষা হলো না। পাকিস্তানি মিলিটারি এসে ঘিরে ফেললো সুপ্রভাদের বাড়ি। সেখানেই শফিকের নেতৃত্বে গেরিলা দল ও পাকবাহিনীর মধ্যে শুরু হলো মুখোমুখি যুদ্ধ। হঠাৎ একটি বুলেট এসে বিঁধলো শফিকের বুকে। সাথে সাথে মাটিতে লুটিয়ে পড়লো তার টগবগে তারুণ্যে ভরা দেহ। রক্তে ভেসে গেল সারা ঘর, দেয়ালে দেয়ালে তাজা রক্তের ছোপ।

এর কিছু দিন পরে এলো ১৬ই ডিসেম্বর। সুপ্রভা রেডিওতে শুনতে পেল "বাংলাদেশ স্বাধীন, পাকিস্তানি বাহিনী আত্মসমর্পণ করেছে।" সুপ্রভা ধীর পায়ে এগিয়ে গেল ঘরের কোণের দিকে। মায়ের ট্রাংক থেকে বের করে আনলো শফিকের রক্ত মাখা শার্টটা। শফিকের দল পাকবাহিনীকে হারাতে পারলেও শফিক চলে গেছে বিজয় না দেখেই। সুপ্রভা শার্টটা জড়িয়ে ধরে অঝোরে কাঁদতে লাগলো। তার মা এসে চোখ মুছিয়ে বললেন, "কাঁদছিস কেন? শফিকের রক্ত বৃথা যায়নি। তার আত্মত্যাগেই আজ আমাদের বিজয় এসেছে। আজ আমাদের সাত কোটি মানুষের স্বপ্ন পূরণ হয়েছে! আমাদের বহু আকাঙ্ক্ষিত বিজয় আজ এসেছে!" সুপ্রভার মনে হলো রক্তিম সূর্যের আলো বাংলাদেশের মাটিতে নতুন করে উদ্ভাসিত। চারিদিকে বিজয়ের আনন্দধ্বনি। শফিকের শার্ট গায়ে চাপিয়ে সুপ্রভা মায়ের লুকিয়ে রাখা লাল-সবুজ পতাকা বাঁধলো শফিকের ফেলে যাওয়া রাইফেলে। এবার স্বাধীন দেশের আকাশে সগৌরবে উড়বে বাংলাদেশের পতাকা!

এভাবেই শফিকের মতো লাখো শহীদের আত্মদান, বীরাঙ্গনা বোনেদের বলিদান ও ধর্ম-বর্ণ নির্বিশেষে ঐক্যবদ্ধ লড়াইয়ের মাধ্যমে অর্জিত হয়েছে বাংলাদেশের বিজয়। পৃথিবীর মানচিত্রে বীরদর্পে জায়গা করে নিয়েছে স্বাধীন সার্বভৌম দেশ– বাংলাদেশ!

বিজয়ের ৫৪ তম বছরে পদার্পণের এই দিনে UDAF এর পক্ষ থেকে সকলকে মহান বিজয় দিবসের শুভেচ্ছা। আসুন, এ বিজয়কে প্রজন্ম থেকে প্রজন্মে ধরে রাখতে সকলে ঐক্যবদ্ধ হয়ে দেশপ্রেমে উদ্বুদ্ধ হয়ে উঠি।

"ধীরেন্দ্রনাথ রায় চৌধুরী গাড়িতে উঠে দেখলেন, গাড়ি ভর্তি মানুষ । তারা সবাই চিন্তায় অস্থির । ধীরেন্দ্রনাথ রায় তাদের দিকে তাকিয়ে আন্তরিক ভঙ্গিতে হাসলেন। ভুলে তিনি চশমা ফেলে এসেছেন বলে তাদের কাউকে চিনতে পারলেন না। চোখে চশমা থাকলে এদের অনেককেই তিনি চিনতেন। বাংলাদেশের শ্রেষ্ঠ সন্তানরা সেই গাড়িতে বসেছিলেন । তাঁদের নিয়ে যাওয়া হবে বধ্যভূমিতে........।"

৭১ এর ১৪ই ডিসেম্বর এমনই এক দিন, যে দিনের ক্ষত বাংলাদেশকে বয়ে বেড়াতে হচ্ছে স্বাধীনতার ৫৩ বছর পরেও। ইতিহাসের পাতায় স্বর্ণাক্ষরে খোদিত আছে সেইসব শহীদ বুদ্ধিজীবীদের নাম যাঁদের অভাব আজও পূরণ করতে পারেনি এই দেশ, এই জাতি। তাঁদের প্রয়াণে এ দেশ হারিয়েছে তার শ্রেষ্ঠ চিন্তাশীলদের। অমীমাংসিত রয়ে গেছে বাংলাদেশের স্বাধীনতা যুদ্ধের অনেক অজানা রহস্য, না জানা অধ্যায়।

১৪ই ডিসেম্বর, শহীদ বুদ্ধিজীবী দিবসে UDAF পরিবার সশ্রদ্ধ চিত্তে স্মরণ করছে জাতির সেই সূর্য সন্তানদের, এদেশের জন্য যাঁরা বলি দিয়ে গেছেন নিজেদের মহা মূল্যবান প্রাণ। তাঁদের বিচ্ছেদ বেদনার ক্ষত এখনও দগদগে হয়ে রয়েছে তাঁদের আপনজনদের বুকে, তাঁদের করুণ পরিণতির কথা আজও আমাদের নাড়া দিয়ে যায় রায়েরবাজার, মিরপুরের বধ্যভূমিতে গেলে। তাঁদের ফেলে যাওয়া দৃপ্ত পদচিহ্নের ধারাকে এগিয়ে নিয়ে এ দেশ আবার চিন্তা ও বুদ্ধির ক্ষুরধারে পৃথিবীকে বিস্মিত করবে এটাই আমাদের প্রত্যাশা।

We are so delighted to express that team AISDC-AGUN, from the Department of A&IS, has been the runner-up of the 'Marketing Golden Jubilee Debate Festival!' UDAF, on behalf of the whole department, wishes its heartiest congratulations to the debaters of AISDC-AGUN: Tahmida Maliha, Tirtha Dey, and Mohammad Nasim.

AIS-AGUN chased the final round as the Top Breaking Team, and our beloved Tirtha Dey has been honored with the title of the 'Debater of the Tournament'! Such eloquent oratory skills as well as the flow of irrefutable arguments of all three participants really astounded the audience. They deserve a big appreciation for beholding the department in such high hands.

Special thanks to the Marketing Debating Club for such an exciting arrangement on the Golden Jubilee occasion of the Department of Marketing. For A&IS, it was a great pride to chase the final round in such a prestigious tournament. We hope to witness such achievements more in the days ahead that encourage the whole department to flourish in various sectors.

What a wonderful atmosphere created on the Preliminary Round of "MINDLOGUE 2.0 - Influence with Words"! The round held a bunch of mind-blowing performances and ended with intense competition. The orators' delivery of each word and their depth of thoughts were really amazing.

The last two days, with a mild winter mood, UDAF witnessed so many wonderful moments. Best wishes to all the participants who made such incredible advancements. We appreciate your participation and are amazed to see your keen effort to do your best.

Besides, we can't help recalling the immense effort given by the judges-panel. Their free & fair judgment as well as valuable tips for the orators made it all perfect.

What an inspiring session it turned out to be! UDAF is thrilled to have hosted a viva preparation session for the 29th batch of the Department of Accounting & Information Systems. This engaging event proved to be invaluable, providing students with practical tips and boosting their confidence as they approach this crucial academic milestone.

We extend our heartfelt appreciation to Imtiaz Zahan Chowdhury, a distinguished graduate of the 24th batch who achieved 1st Class 1st in the MBA program, currently serving as a Lecturer at United International University. His academic excellence and insights added immense value to the session, enriching the discussion for everyone involved.

We also extend our sincere thanks to Bablu Nasir, who graduated with 1st Class 1st in the BBA program from the 25th batch and achieved the first position in the C unit admission test. His achievements and practical advice resonated deeply with our students, motivating them toward their own academic and professional goals.

The students of the 29th batch showed remarkable enthusiasm during the session, especially in the Q&A, where they asked numerous noteworthy questions. Their excitement and curiosity truly made the session memorable. We hope this event has given them a strong foundation as they prepare for their viva and academic growth. Accounting is the mirror reflecting the reality of life. It is woven into the fabric of our lives. From the smallest transactions to the grandest corporate financial statements, accounting guides our financial decisions. Losing track of our accounts is like losing track of ourselves.

If life is a voyage, accounting is its compass. Assets are the treasures we collect along the way, and liabilities are the anchor points that keep us grounded. Through managing a perfect balance between the two, we can guarantee a smooth sailing.

The income statement is the ship’s log of revenues and expenses made during the journey. Thus, accounting illustrates our experiences in flawless detail of numbers. It holds us accountable, much like believers reflecting on their deeds.

ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের একাউন্টিং এন্ড ইনফরমেশন সিস্টেমস বিভাগের ২৬ ব্যাচের শিক্ষার্থী শয়ন বড়ুয়ার বাবা স্কোয়ামাস সেল কার্সিনোমা ক্যান্সারে আক্রান্ত। ডাক্তারের পরামর্শ অনুযায়ী যত দ্রুত সম্ভব কেমোথেরাপি না নিলে তাঁর শরীরের অন্য অংশে ক্যান্সার জীবাণুর দ্রুত বিস্তার ঘটার প্রবল সম্ভাবনা আছে। নিয়মিত মেডিকেল টেস্ট ও মেডিসিনসহ বিবিধ চিকিৎসা বাবদ ইতিমধ্যেই অনেক টাকা ব্যয় হয়েছে। পরবর্তীতে কেমোথেরাপিসহ প্রয়োজনীয় চিকিৎসা চালিয়ে যেতে বিরাট অংকের অর্থ প্রয়োজন। এ পর্যন্ত নিজেদের সামর্থ্য মোতাবেক এবং ধার-দেনা করে তাঁর চিকিৎসা ব্যয় নির্বাহ করা গেলেও, এখন তাঁদের নিম্ন-মধ্যবিত্ত পরিবারের পক্ষে এই ব্যয়বহুল চিকিৎসা চালিয়ে নেওয়া সম্ভবপর নয়।

একদিকে পরিবারের বটবৃক্ষস্বরূপ বাবার অসুস্থতা এবং অন্যদিকে চিকিৎসার জন্য বিপুল অর্থ সংস্থানের ভারে জর্জরিত শয়ন ও তার পরিবারের এই দুর্দিনে আসুন আমরা আমাদের বাবার পাশে দাঁড়াই। আমাদের সাহায্য ও প্রার্থনা শয়নের বাবার সুচিকিৎসা নিশ্চিত করতে পারে, যেন খুব দ্রুত সুস্থ হয়ে তিনি তাঁর পরিবারের কাছে ফিরে যেতে পারেন।
