"Die" followed by the following Preposition:

Merits and Demerits of City Life and Rural Life

Life in the city is different from life in the village. Some people prefer living in cities while others enjoy their life in the countryside. Both lives have some advantages and disadvantages. Firstly, life in the city is much easier than in the country because cities have a developed transport system, a sewerage system and better services such as telephone, central heating, gas, electricity and the Internet. Secondly, there are far more education, entertainment and medical care facilities in the city. There are lots of shopping centres, cinemas, theatres, concert halls, night clubs, art galleries, cafes and restaurants. It is easy to choose where to hang out with friends and have fun, relax at the weekends. Thirdly there are also a lot of opportunities to take part in games and sports under different clubs. In city life, people have more chances to use different sources of information, to join an interesting and well-paid job and to succeed in the highest peak of success. But city life is not devoid of disadvantages. There are too much noise, traffic, garbage, air pollution and water pollution in city life. In addition, the criminal situation is not good and there is much stress in the city life. On the other hand, village life is quiet, peaceful, cooperative and healthy. People are closer to the nature and friendlier. But there are also some disadvantages in rural life. There are fewer facilities for higher education, health care; communication, entertainment, job in rural life than city life. That’s why many young people flee from the village for a better life in the city. It can be concluded that life in the city seems more appealing and interesting than in village.

The Padma Bridge (Paragraph)

The Padma Bridge is a multipurpose bridge over the mighty river Padma with a swift current in Bangladesh. The bridge has two layers of communication: a four-lane roadway at the top and a railway at the bottom. Besides, it will be used for gas, power lines, and fiber-optic cable expansion in the future. It is the longest bridge in the South Asian region and the 122nd longest bridge in the world. The bridge is built with concrete and steel by "China Major Bridge Engineering Construction Company Limited." Bangladesh has to spend over 30,000 BD by itself to build the longest structure. The bridge is 6.15 km long and 18.18 meters wide having 42 Pillars and 41 Spans. The construction of the bridge was started on 7 December 2014 and completed by 22 June 2022. The bridge was opened/ inaugurated for the people by Honorable Prime Minister, Sheikh Hasina on 25 June 2022. The Bridge has connected Mawa in the Munshiganj district to Jajira/Louhjong in the Shariatpur district. To speak in other words, it has linked up 23 districts of the southwestern and the eastern part of the country with the capital city. In a word, it has brought about a revolutionary change in the communication system for the people of the southwestern and eastern parts of the country. The bridge has decreased the untold sufferings of the people, saved their time, and started helping them to develop their economic condition. It has enhanced the prestige, honor, and dignity of Bangladesh in the world. However the fact, the Padma Bridge is a successful project done by the present government of Bangladesh without any foreign aid.

Internet is a computer based global network. It plays a miraculous role in the world of information and communication, science and technology, art and culture, history and literature, trade and commerce and what not. Internet can transmit and receive messages quickly at the cheapest cost. It has made the communication easier and brought the world closer. People living in any corner of the world can easily communicate with others; share their feelings and see the photos of the persons while talking through internet Skype. People of all classes are now greatly dependent on internet. Teachers, students, economists, politicians, business communities and other professionals can read books, newspapers, journals, magazines etc. and share their opinions through internet. The students from home and abroad can attend online classes, examinations as well as seek admission news and information of the universities through the help of internet. Internet has brought about a great change in banking and financial activities, worldwide money transfer and transaction of businesses. Different types of commercial products and goods are being bought and sold through internet based websites. The job seekers can easily know about different jobs and apply for them. People can manage office, consult doctors and have entertainment through internet. Even the great social network ‘Facebook’ has not been possible without internet. There is darkness behind light and evil behind good. There are some abuses of internet. Some facts like obscene films, videos and nakedness are available in internet and our young generation is getting demoralized. Teenagers keep chatting and waste times while they are supposed to study. In addition, disclosing privacy, black mailing, virus infection and stealing information are the abuses of internet. In spite of having some drawbacks, internet is the best way to keep pace with the rest of the world.

The Historic 7th March Speech (Paragraph)

The Historic 7th March Speech by Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman is one of the greatest speeches in the world. This speech is a milestone for the liberation of Bangladesh. In this respect, the 7th March Speech stands as important as Abraham Lincoln’s ‘Gettysburg Speech’ and Martin Luther King Junior’s speech “I Have a Dream”. Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the founding father of Bangladesh, delivered this historic speech on 7 March 1971before the presence of over two million people at Ramna Race Course in Dhaka. In the speech he highlighted the oppressions, suppressions and tortures of the Pakistani rulers who created the cultural, political and economic difficulties. He reminded the Bengali people of their repeated bloodshed during the Language Movement of 1952, Six Point Movement of 1966 as well as the tyrannical attitude of the Pakistani rulers in 1954, 1958 and 1969. Then he motivated the freedom loving Bengali people to wage a decisive struggle against the Pakistani tyranny. He instructed the people to confront the enemies with whatever they had. This directive speech inspired the Bengali people to prepare for a war of independence. In fact, the speech of the historic 7th March resurrected the exploited and sleeping people across the country and so transformed them into a fighting force. Finally the Bengali people took up arms and achieved independence after a bloody battle of nine months. So, the Speech of the historic 7th March was in culmination of Bengali aspiration of liberty, equality and exploitation free democratic society and its significance is beyond measure.

Female Education (Paragraph)

Education either for males or females is a must for the socioeconomic development of a nation. It provides mental and intellectual training, the rational and moral instincts for human beings and enables them to make the right choice in life and overcome obstacles to the way of development. If a woman is educated, she will be developed mentally, rationally and morally as well as will be able to perform her duty properly. Otherwise, women will remain illiterate, and unskilled and become burdened for the family, society and nation. Today’s girls are the future mothers. Mothers have to play an important role in bringing up the children in a family. If a mother is educated, she can render her services in a constructive way. Since an educated mother knows better how to make her children educated, and worthier and shape their character, she is more likely to send her children to school and college. In this regard, Napoleon once said, “Give me an educated mother; I will give you an educated nation.” Besides, education makes a girl or a woman certainly a potential mother. Educated women have higher economic potential than those who have no schooling. Educated women can join a wide range of professions and earn their livelihood. Thus they can establish individual identities and become self-reliant. Many great men of the world put more emphasis on female education. Hence Napoleon rightly said, “One hundred educated mothers are more powerful than one hundred soldiers.” Even conjugal life becomes unhappy and dull if a husband and a wife are not educated. In religion, education has also been made compulsory for both men and women. But conservative attitudes, early marriage, religious prejudice and poverty are some obstacles to the way of female education. However, the conditions are now improving since people are constantly getting aware of the rights of women. The government, UNICEF, and other Humanitarian Organizations are now working to improve female education in Bangladesh.

Etiquette and Manners (Paragraph)

Etiquette and manners are the two important terms of social behavior. Etiquette means the rules of correct behavior in society. The rules of etiquette are the guidelines for practicing good manners. The word ‘manners’ means the behavior that is considered to be polite in a particular society or culture. Etiquette and manners include greeting the elders and the visitors, and remaining silent and quiet when others, especially the
elders speak. Besides, considering the effect of behavior on others and even dealing with the members of the family at home is also a part of manners. However the fact, manners may be either good or bad. For example, speaking with food in one’s mouth is a bad manner. Ill-mannered persons are not liked by all. Both etiquette and manners are closely related. Good manners cannot be formed without etiquette. But etiquette and manners are not the same irrespective of society and culture. They vary from person to person, culture to culture, and society to society. The best places for learning etiquette and manners are homes and families where the children grow up with the close touches of their parents and spend most of their time. Besides, etiquette and manners can be learnt from various institutions like schools, colleges, universities, or professional bodies. There are rules of behavior for all kinds of social occasions called wedding reception, birthday parties, debating clubs, funeral rituals, etc. Particular manners should be used in particular situations or occasions. It is important to practice saying ‘please’, ‘sorry’, ‘excuse me, ‘thank you’, ‘pardon me’, ‘good morning’, ‘may I’ etc. in everyday life because they make the daily work and expressions smooth and pleasant

Drug Addiction (Paragraph)

Drug addiction is now a global problem. It has spread all over the world. Drug addiction refers to a strong attraction to taking harmful drugs. People like young boys and girls, middle-aged men and women as well as others are being addicted to drugs day by day. They are taking drugs like wine, morphine, o***m, he**in, co***ne, ma*****na, Yabba, phensedyl, etc. in order to forget the pangs and anxieties of life for some being. The reasons for taking drugs are frustration, unemployment, lack of family ties, dejection in love, loss in business, political crisis, conflict, and so on. Whatever may be the causes; these drugs cause economic loss and tell upon the body and mind seriously. The liver, heart, kidney, and brain of the addicts get damaged seriously because of taking drugs. Besides, the addicts lose moral character and get involved in immoral and anti-social activities. In order to buy expensive drugs and manage their cost, they may commit crimes like pickpocketing, stealing, snatching, hijacking, and misbehaving with the members of the family. However, controlling drug addiction is very urgent now to save our young generation. Rehabilitating the addicts, stopping the trafficking or smuggling of drugs, mentioning the fatal effects of drugs on health, and above all raising awareness among the people can control drug addiction to a great extent.

The Sundarbans (Paragraph)

The Sundarbans, 52nd World Heritage Site, is the largest mangrove forest in the world. It is located on the Bay of Bengal, the southernmost part of Bangladesh. It is an excellent abode of flora and fauna. The Sundarbans is famous in the world for wildlife and wilderness, especially as the habitat of the Royal Bengal Tigers. Besides, there are estuarine crocodiles, pythons, spotted deer, monkeys, and many other animals in it. The Sundarbans being a mangrove forest attracts tourists and soothes their minds with its captivating scenic beauty. It is full of different trees and plants including Sal, Segun, Sundari, Gaoya, Golpata, and whatnot. The most attractive and unique sights of Sundarbans are Kochikhali, Karamjal, Kotka, Hiron Point, and the beach. Both the natives and the tourists visit the Sundarbans and enjoy its scenic beauty. Unfortunately, this forest is not in a good condition at all. The Sundarbans is now known as vanishing islands. It is being rapidly destroyed by erosion, rising sea levels, and storm surges as well as by men’s unwise activities. Besides, increased salinity increases the vulnerability of the mangrove forest. As its coastline is retreating rapidly, the total area of the forest is getting reduced. As a result, tigers and many other species are being lost day by day. So, adequate and proper measures should be taken by both government and UNESCO to protect this world-famous forest.
