.D. Since its establishment, the department has been pursuing academic and research activities in the field of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and producing graduates of very acceptable standard. While many of these graduates are pursuing doctoral and post-doctoral research abroad, some of them are also having jobs in different countries of the world. In view of the academic and research activities pursued, the department was renamed in 2001 as the “Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology” in keeping with the international level of nomenclature, and its activities were further expanded to launch most advanced research. At present, there are 31 members of the teaching staffs in the department with some 250 students in the undergraduate and post-graduate levels.
