Greetings to All,
According to the calendar, today is . It's every April 22nd, come rain or shine. But can't Earth Day be everyday? As trite as that may sound, it's quite a simple concept. Just as many who celebrate festive holidays like Christmas, Hannukkah or Kwanza that choose to show their love not in gifts on that day, but in acts of love and kindness throughout the year, it only makes sense that we as stewards of the planet show acts of love and kindness in the same way.
While it is very cool to be active today (and this week) let's consider being active during those times of year that the same hard working organizations need it most - during phone drives, attending a community board meeting, serving food at a soup kitchen, lending support to building new homes and clean water wells for those that need it.....
See, the Earth is more than oceans, forests, composting and gardening, it's the very people that live on it too. Those that have no food, no access to clean water or medications -- I think you get it.
While yes, will continue to educate communities on small changes they can make to we encourage all citizens of the planet to look a bit wider at the bigger picture and do what you can, when you can and as often as you can.
Thank you,
S. Marshall McClure
