*Fruit Harvest: A Good Snack for Children of Tinongdan Elementary School*
*Theme: Building Good Eating Habits, The MATATAG Way* 🍌🍊🍍

# Rationale / Reason
To promote healthy eating habits among learners of Tinongdan Elementary School by increasing access to fresh, locally harvested fruits. This supports DepEd’s *School-Based Feeding Program SBFP* and *Health & Nutrition Program* goals: reduce malnutrition, prevent lifestyle diseases, and help pupils focus better in class. “Fruit instead of junk food” builds lifelong wellness.

> *Activity*: Fruit Harvest and Healthy Snacks Distribution
> *Date*: June 30, 2026
> *Participants*: 113pupils, 7 teachers
> *Accomplishments*: Harvested 41 kilos of assorted fruits from the school Gulayan sa Paaralan. These included banana, papaya, pineapple, etc. Fruits were washed, sliced, and served as snacks during recess time.
> *Outcomes*:
> 1. *Nutrition*: 100% of pupils received fresh fruit snacks, replacing unhealthy snacks.

Through the Fruit Harvest Activity, Tinongdan Elementary School continues to nurture healthy, active, and alert learners. By starting good eating habits early, we help our children grow MATATAG: Healthy, Capable, and Ready for Learning.

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to San Miguel Global Power Corporation (SMGPC) for their generous donation of school supplies to the pupils of Tinongdan Elementary School.
We also sincerely appreciate the support of the LGU Itogon in making this meaningful activity possible on June 25, 2026.

Through the NDRRMC Memorandum No. 15, s. 2026 " Conduct of CY 2026 Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill" Tinongdan Elementary School (135536) actively participated the 2nd Quarter EQ Drill. Activities done were the "Duck, Cover, & Hold" and it was reminded for them to be attentive all the time.

Your support ensures that our learners have a safe, covered, and clean place to practice proper handwashing — especially important for their health, safety, and WASH compliance.
