🌱 Cohesive Devices কী?

Cohesive devices বা সংযোজক উপাদান হলো এমন শব্দ, পদ, বা বাক্যাংশ, যা লেখা বা কথায় ভিন্ন ভিন্ন অংশকে যুক্ত করে অর্থের ধারাবাহিকতা ও সুসংহত ভাব বজায় রাখে।
👉 সহজভাবে বললে: লেখা বা বক্তৃতায় ধারাবাহিকতা তৈরি করতে এগুলো ব্রিজ বা সেতুর মতো কাজ করে।

১️⃣ Addition (যোগ বা যুক্ত করা)

উদাহরণ অর্থ

and, also, as well as, moreover, furthermore, in addition এবং, আরও, উপরন্তু, এছাড়াও

Ex:

He is talented and hardworking.

সে মেধাবী এবং পরিশ্রমী।

২️⃣ Contrast (বিরোধ বা তুলনা)

উদাহরণ অর্থ

but, yet, however, although, though, on the other hand, whereas, nevertheless কিন্তু, তবুও, যদিও, অন্যদিকে

Ex:

She is rich, but she is not happy.

সে ধনী, কিন্তু সুখী নয়।

৩️⃣ Cause and Effect (কারণ ও ফলাফল)

উদাহরণ অর্থ

so, therefore, thus, hence, as a result, consequently তাই, সুতরাং, ফলে, সেই কারণে

Ex:

It rained heavily, so we stayed home.

বৃষ্টি হল খুব, তাই আমরা বাড়িতে ছিলাম।

৪️⃣ Sequence / Order (ক্রম বা ধাপ)

উদাহরণ অর্থ

first, firstly, then, next, after that, finally, lastly প্রথমে, তারপর, পরবর্তী, শেষে

Ex:

First, wash your hands. Then, start cooking.

প্রথমে হাত ধুয়ে নাও। তারপর রান্না শুরু করো।

উদাহরণ অর্থ

indeed, in fact, above all, most importantly আসলে, প্রকৃতপক্ষে, সবচেয়ে গুরুত্বপূর্ণভাবে

Ex:

In fact, he never lied to anyone.

প্রকৃতপক্ষে, সে কারও সঙ্গে কখনো মিথ্যা বলেনি।

🌱 1. Simile (উপমা)

Definition (English): Comparing two different things using words like as or like.
Bangla: ‘as’ বা ‘like’ ব্যবহার করে দুটি ভিন্ন জিনিসকে তুলনা করা।

✅ Example:

He is as brave as a lion.
সে সিংহের মতো সাহসী।

Her smile is like sunshine.
তার হাসি যেন রোদের মতো উজ্জ্বল।

Definition (English): Saying one thing is another thing, without using ‘like’ or ‘as’.
Bangla: ‘like’ বা ‘as’ না ব্যবহার করে সরাসরি তুলনা করা।

Life is a journey.
জীবন একটি যাত্রা।

Definition (English): Giving human qualities to non-human things.
Bangla: জড় জিনিসকে মানুষের মতো গুণ বা আচরণ দেওয়া।

বাতাস গাছের ফাঁক দিয়ে ফিসফিস করল।

The sun smiled at us.
সূর্য আমাদের দিকে হাসল।

⚡ 4. Hyperbole (অতিকথন বা অতিশয়োক্তি)

Definition (English): Exaggeration to emphasize something.
Bangla: কোনো বিষয়কে বেশি করে দেখানোর জন্য বাড়িয়ে বলা।

I’ve told you a thousand times.
আমি তোমাকে হাজার বার বলেছি।

I’m so hungry I could eat a horse.
আমি এত ক্ষুধার্ত যে ঘোড়াও খেয়ে ফেলতে পারি।

Definition (English): Repeating the same consonant sound at the beginning of nearby words.
Bangla: পাশাপাশি কয়েকটি শব্দের শুরুতে একই ধ্বনির পুনরাবৃত্তি।

She sells sea shells by the sea shore.

Peter Piper picked a peck of pickled peppers.

Definition (English): Words that sound like the noise they describe.

Definition (English): Speaking directly to someone absent or an object/idea.
Bangla: উপস্থিত নয় এমন কারো বা কোনো বস্তুর প্রতি সরাসরি সম্বোধন।

ও মৃত্যু, তোমার দংশন কোথায়?
