Assalamu Alaikum,
As part of the Professional Etiquette and Grooming lab course for the 2nd Year, 1st Semester of the 7th batch of the Tourism and Hospitality Management Department, we had the opportunity to visit Hotel Royal Raj in Rajshahi.
As our first industrial visit, it was an incredibly valuable experience through which we learned many practical aspects of the hospitality industry. We are sincerely grateful to the respected General Manager Sir for taking the time, despite his busy schedule, to guide and interact with us.
We would also like to express our heartfelt thanks and appreciation to our course instructor, Md. Tanjil Hossen Sojib Sir, for his continuous support and for providing us with such practical and insightful learning experiences. Being able to gain real-life exposure has been truly enriching and enjoyable.
This was also the first tour for our entire batch, making the experience even more special and memorable something that is difficult to express in words.
We extend our sincere thanks to everyone whose efforts contributed to making this industrial visit successful.

মহান শহীদ দিবস ও আন্তর্জাতিক মাতৃভাষা দিবস উপলক্ষে আমাদের বিভাগের সম্মানিত শিক্ষকবৃন্দ ও প্রিয় শিক্ষার্থীরা একত্রিত হয়ে ভাষা শহিদদের প্রতি গভীর শ্রদ্ধা নিবেদন করেছেন। তাঁদের অমর আত্মত্যাগের বিনিময়ে অর্জিত বাংলা ভাষা আমাদের অহংকার, আমাদের আত্মপরিচয়ের দীপ্ত প্রতীক।

অপরিসীম শ্রদ্ধায় স্মরণ করছি সালাম, বরকত, রফিক, জব্বারসহ সকল ভাষা শহিদকে, যাঁদের রক্তে রাঙানো পথ ধরেই আমরা পেয়েছি মাতৃভাষায় কথা বলার অধিকার।

🐾 আজ ১ ফেব্রুয়ারি, বিশ্ব মেছো বিড়াল দিবস 🐾

মেছো বিড়াল (Fishing Cat) বাংলাদেশের এক অনন্য দেশীয় বন্যপ্রাণী। নীরব প্রকৃতি ও লাজুক স্বভাবের এই প্রাণী জলাভূমির জন্য অতি গুরুত্বপূর্ণ। দুঃখজনক সত্য হলো, এই প্রাণীটি আজ ধীরে ধীরে বিলুপ্তির পথে। অনেকেই জানেন না যে, মেছো বিড়াল শুধু একটি বন্যবিড়াল নয়, এটি বাংলাদেশের জলাভূমিনির্ভর বাস্তুতন্ত্রের এক জীবন্ত প্রহরী।

🔍 মেছো বিড়ালের সংক্ষিপ্ত পরিচিতি

মেছো বিড়াল বসবাস করে হাওর, বিল, নদী-খাল, ম্যানগ্রোভ ও জলাভূমি এলাকায়। নামের মতোই এরা দুর্দান্ত মৎস্যশিকারি, পানির কাছেই তাদের জীবন। বাংলাদেশে সুন্দরবন, হাওর অঞ্চল, উপকূলীয় এলাকা এবং কিছু গ্রামীণ জলাভূমিতে এদের উপস্থিতির তথ্য পাওয়া যায়।
কিন্তু আজ জলাভূমি ভরাট ও দখল, বন ভূমি ধ্বংস, অনিয়ন্ত্রিত নগরায়ন, কৃষিজ জমির সম্প্রসারণ ও মানুষ–বন্যপ্রাণী দ্বন্দ্বের কারণে মেছো বিড়ালের ঘর কমে যাচ্ছে, আর নিরাপদ আশ্রয়ও হারিয়ে যাচ্ছে দ্রুত।

🌿 মেছো বিড়াল ও বাংলাদেশের পর্যটন

বাংলাদেশের পর্যটন শুধু পাহাড়, সমুদ্র বা ঐতিহাসিক স্থাপনায় সীমাবদ্ধ নয়। আমাদের আছে প্রকৃতি, জলাভূমি আর জীববৈচিত্র্যের বিশাল সম্ভাবনা। ইকো-ট্যুরিজম ও বন্যপ্রাণী পর্যটন হতে পারে ভবিষ্যৎ বাংলাদেশের শক্তিশালী পরিচয়।
সুন্দরবনের রয়েল বেঙ্গল টাইগার ও হাওরের অতিথি পাখির মতোই মেছো বিড়াল হতে পারে বাংলাদেশের ওয়েটল্যান্ড ইকো-ট্যুরিজমের প্রতীক। কারণ জলাভূমি সংরক্ষণ মানে শুধু একটি প্রাণী রক্ষা নয়, এটি স্থানীয় মানুষের জীবিকা, পরিবেশের ভারসাম্য এবং টেকসই পর্যটন উন্নয়নের সাথেও গভীরভাবে যুক্ত।

📢 কেন জনসচেতনতা জরুরি?

আপনি হয়তো কখনো মেছো বিড়াল দেখেননি, কিন্তু আপনি নিশ্চয়ই দেখেছেন বিল শুকিয়ে যেতে, খাল ভরাট হতে, জলাভূমি হারিয়ে যেতে।
একটি জলাভূমি ধ্বংস হলে হারিয়ে যায় শত শত প্রাণের বাসস্থান, একটি প্রজাতি নীরবে হারিয়ে গেলে হারিয়ে যায় প্রকৃতির একটি অধ্যায় আর ভবিষ্যৎ প্রজন্ম হারায় বাংলাদেশের প্রকৃতির একটি অমূল্য সম্পদ

🤝 আমরা কী করতে পারি?

✅ জলাভূমি সংরক্ষণের পক্ষে কথা বলি
✅ বন্যপ্রাণী হত্যা/নির্যাতনের বিরুদ্ধে সচেতন হই
✅ দায়িত্বশীল ভ্রমণ ও ইকো-ট্যুরিজমকে সমর্থন করি
✅ ভয় নয়, সহাবস্থান গড়ি

🏆🎉 THM Sports Tournament 2026 – Three Days of Passion, Performance & Pride 🎉🏆

From 25th to 27th of January 2026, marked an unforgettable chapter for the Department of Tourism and Hospitality Management (THM) as we successfully organized the THM Sports Tournament 2026.

Over the first two days, students actively participated in a wide variety of games and sports, turning the campus into a hub of energy, excitement, teamwork, and sportsmanship. Every match reflected dedication, discipline, and the true spirit of healthy competition, making the tournament vibrant and memorable.

The event concluded on 27th January with a joyful Prize Giving Ceremony, where the winners and runners-up were honored for their outstanding performances. The ceremony celebrated not only victories but also effort, unity, and mutual respect among participants.

This three-day event was more than a sports tournament, it was a celebration of togetherness, leadership, and campus life, creating memories that will be cherished for years to come.

Heartfelt congratulations to all the winners and participants, and sincere thanks to the organizers, volunteers, and supporters who made THM Sports Tournament 2026 a grand success! 💙🙌

আজ ৩ জানুয়ারি ২০২৬ ইং, রোজ শনিবার, Bangladesh Tourism Board (BTB)-এর উদ্যোগে এবং পাবনা বিজ্ঞান ও প্রযুক্তি বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের ট্যুরিজম অ্যান্ড হসপিটালিটি ম্যানেজমেন্ট বিভাগের আয়োজনে “ট্যুরিজম লুডো প্রতিযোগিতা” ও “পরিষ্কার-পরিচ্ছন্নতা ক্যাম্পেইন” সফলভাবে অনুষ্ঠিত হয়েছে।

এই কর্মসূচিতে বাংলাদেশ ট্যুরিজম বোর্ডের পক্ষ থেকে উপস্থিত ছিলেন বোর্ডের সম্মানিত প্রধান নির্বাহী কর্মকর্তা (CEO) নুজহাত ইয়াসমিন ম্যাম। এছাড়াও অনুষ্ঠানে উপস্থিত ছিলেন ব্যবসায় শিক্ষা অনুষদের সম্মানিত ডিন প্রফেসর ড. মো. হাসিবুর রহমান স্যার, ট্যুরিজম অ্যান্ড হসপিটালিটি ম্যানেজমেন্ট বিভাগের সম্মানিত চেয়ারম্যান মো. আশিকুর রহমান আভি স্যার, বিভাগের সহকারী অধ্যাপক এস. এম. শাহেদুল আলম স্যার। এছাড়াও এ অনুষ্ঠানে উপস্থিত ছিলেন বিভাগের অন্যান্য সম্মানিত শিক্ষকমণ্ডলী।

ট্যুরিজম লুডো প্রতিযোগিতার মাধ্যমে আনন্দঘন ও শিক্ষণীয় পরিবেশে আজকের কর্মসূচির সূচনা হয়। পাশাপাশি ক্যাম্পেইনের আওতায় বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় প্রাঙ্গণে একটি পরিষ্কার-পরিচ্ছন্নতা অভিযান পরিচালনা করা হয়, যা পরিবেশ সংরক্ষণ ও টেকসই পর্যটনের গুরুত্ব সম্পর্কে শিক্ষার্থীদের সচেতন করে।

এ ধরনের উদ্যোগ দায়িত্বশীল পর্যটন চর্চা, পরিবেশবান্ধব মনোভাব এবং সচেতন নাগরিক হিসেবে তরুণ প্রজন্মকে গড়ে তুলতে গুরুত্বপূর্ণ ভূমিকা রাখবে। এই আয়োজনে বাংলাদেশ ট্যুরিজম বোর্ড, সংশ্লিষ্ট সকল শিক্ষক, শিক্ষার্থী ও অংশগ্রহণকারীদের প্রতি বিভাগের পক্ষ থেকে আন্তরিক ধন্যবাদ ও কৃতজ্ঞতা।

On Saturday, 3 January 2026, under the initiative of the Bangladesh Tourism Board (BTB) and organized by the Department of Tourism and Hospitality Management, Pabna University of Science and Technology, the “Tourism Ludo Competition” and “Cleanliness Campaign” were successfully held.

The program was honored by the presence of the Honorable Chief Executive Officer of the Bangladesh Tourism Board, Nujhat Yasmin Ma’am. The event was also attended by the Honorable Dean of the Faculty of Business Studies, Professor Dr. Md. Hasebur Rahman Sir, the Honorable Chairman of the Department of Tourism and Hospitality Management, Md. Ashikur Rahman Avi Sir, and Assistant Professor of the department, S. M. Shahedul Alam Sir. Other respected faculty members of the department were also present.

The day’s activities began in a joyful and educational atmosphere through the Tourism Ludo Competition. In addition, a cleanliness drive was conducted across the university campus as part of the campaign, raising awareness among students about environmental protection and the importance of sustainable tourism.

Such initiatives play a vital role in promoting responsible tourism practices, fostering environmental consciousness, and shaping the younger generation into responsible and aware citizens. On behalf of the department, sincere thanks and gratitude are extended to the Bangladesh Tourism Board, all respected teachers, students, and participants.
