Animated movie screened at AKMCC

Aiming to enhance the linguistic proficiency, particularly the listening skill, the English Language Club of Abdul Kader Mollah City College (AKMCC) hosted a movie-screening programme at the college auditorium on February 17.

Mr. Herem Ullah Ahsan, Principal of the AKMCC graced the occasion as the chief guest.

While inaugurating the programme, Mr. Ahsan said that the importance of English language cannot be denied in today's world of globalisation.

Stressing the importance of English as an international language, the Principal said that there is no alternative to enhancing the four skills of a language, particularly English.

He also urged the students to equip themselves with the linguistic proficiency to cope up with today's competitive world and prove their mettle.

Presented by Mr. Anwar Hussain, Lecturer, Department of English, the programme was attended by Ms. Kazi Shahida Akter, Chairperson, Department of English, Mr. Nitai Chanra Nandi, Senior Assistant Professor and Mr. Ziaur Rahman, Assistant Professor, among others.

Senior faculty members of different departments of the institution, a large number of students and along with a bunch of movie enthusiasts also joined the programme with great gusto.

As part of the programme, an American animated film 'Coco', was screened.

The film 'Coco' revolves around a 12-year-old boy in Mexico named Miguel who is accidentally transported to the Land of the Dead, where he seeks the help of his deceased musician great-great grandfather to return him to his family and reverse their ban on music.

Documentary show held at AKMCC

The English Language Club of Abdul Kadir Mollah City College, Narsingdi held a documentary screening programme at the college auditorium on January 28.

Mr. Farukh Hossain, Senior Assistant Professor, Department of Civics and Good Governance of AKMCC delivered the welcome speech and formally inaugurated the programme while Ms Kazi Shahida Akter Ruma, Senior Assistant Professor, Department of English of AKMCC remained present as the special guest.

Mr. Arman Hossain, Assistant Professor, Department of Biology and Mr Messer Ali, head of Business Studies, were also present at the programme as guests of honour.

Presented by Anwar Hussain, Lecturer, Department of English, AKMCC, a large number of students spontaneously and enthusiastically attended the programme.

With a vow to conserve the natural diversity, Mr. Avi Ram Das, Lecturer, Department of English, AKMCC, concluded the session thanking all for their active participation.
