IELTS Listening - 1: Notes or Form Completion
Underline important words.
Find the main words and think about other ways to say them. Look for a title.
Read the sentences around the empty spaces.
Try to guess what kind of information is missing, like a last name, a place, a date, a phone number, or a price.
Guess what type of word is needed.
Is it a person, a description, or an action? (Is it a noun, adjective, or verb?)
Listen for words that mean the same thing.
The person speaking might use a different word than the one you read.
Watch out for words that can change the meaning.
Words like "but" or "however" can mean the speaker is about to change their mind. For example, "The center was known for plays, but now it's known for opera."
Write things down while you listen.
Practice doing three things at once: reading, listening, and writing.
Try to guess the answers before you hear them.

১. গুরুত্বপূর্ণ শব্দগুলোর নিচে দাগ দিন।
শব্দগুলোকে অন্যভাবে কীভাবে বলা যায় তা ভাবুন। কোনো শিরোনাম আছে কিনা দেখুন।
২. খালি জায়গার আশেপাশের বাক্যগুলো পড়ুন।
কী ধরনের শব্দ বা নম্বর অনুপস্থিত, তা অনুমান করুন — যেমন উপাধি, জায়গা, নাম, তারিখ, ফোন নম্বর, পোস্টকোড, অক্ষর, শতকরা হার, দাম, ঠিকানা।
৩. কী ধরনের শব্দ প্রয়োজন, তা অনুমান করুন।
যেমন, এটি কি কোনো নাম, বিশেষণ, নাকি কোনো কাজ? (এটি কি একটি noun, adjective, নাকি verb?)
৪. সমার্থক শব্দের জন্য কান সজাগ রাখুন।
বক্তা হয়তো আপনি যা পড়েছেন তার থেকে ভিন্ন একটি শব্দ ব্যবহার করতে পারেন।
৫. বিভ্রান্তিকর শব্দ থেকে সাবধান থাকুন।
"but," "however," ইত্যাদি শব্দগুলো বক্তার সিদ্ধান্ত পরিবর্তনের ইঙ্গিত দেয়। যেমন, "সেন্টারটি সবসময় তার থিয়েটারিকাল প্রোডাকশনের জন্য বিখ্যাত ছিল, কিন্তু সাম্প্রতিক বছরগুলোতে এটি অপেরা পারফরম্যান্সের জন্য সুপরিচিত হয়েছে।"
৬. শোনার সময় নোট নিন।
একসাথে তিনটি দক্ষতা অনুশীলন করুন: "পড়া + শোনা + লেখা।"
৭. উত্তরগুলো অনুমান করার চেষ্টা করুন।
