The rule of East India company in this sub-continent was finished after “ The Shipahi Bidroho” and then started the rule of “Queen Victoria” in 1857. In that time there weren’t any colleges in this region (For example: Khulna, Barisal, Faridpur) for higher education. So feeling the lack of higher education the landlord of Narail “ Ratan Roy” founded the “ Narail Victoria Collegiate English High School ” in the memory of the great queen Her Excellency “Queen Victoria”. The Entrance exam was controlled then by the Calcutta University. In 1886 by hard efforts of local landlords this “Narail Victoria Collegiate English High school” was replaced as a second class F.A (Intermediate) college.
