Nasirabad Collegiate School

bbas Ali (1911-1922) took charge as the first superintendent of the school. There is also another history behind naming of the school as Nasirabad Collegiate School. Nasirabad was the early name of Mymensingh. It was named after the name of Nasiruddin Nusrat Shah, one of the Independent Sultans of Bengal. The school started as Nasirabad High Madrasah and was later blended with religious and western education under 'New Scheme Madrasah' in 1911 and the madrasah was renamed as Nasirabad High Madrasah. Reaz Uddin Ahmed (1945-1967), the most successful head of this institution added Intermediate classes in the school in 1948 naming it again as 'Islamic Intermediate College'. Later general courses were introduced side by side the Islamic education under the brave leadership of Reaz Uddin and it was named again as Nasirabad Collegiate School in 1958. Till now the school has a good reputation in the district.
