Tarique Rahman stresses on democratic process, accountability
তারেক রহমান গণতান্ত্রিক প্রক্রিয়া ও জবাবদিহিতার ওপর গুরুত্ব আরোপ করেন
My personal belief is this:
আমার ব্যক্তিগত বিশ্বাস হলো এটি—
if, at any cost, we can continue accountability and the democratic process,
যদি যে কোনো মূল্যে আমরা জবাবদিহিতা ও গণতান্ত্রিক প্রক্রিয়া অব্যাহত রাখতে পারি,
there may be many obstacles, and it may be very difficult.
তাহলে অনেক বাধা আসতে পারে, এবং তা খুবই কঠিন হতে পারে।
But if we can keep the democratic process going over a certain period of time,
কিন্তু যদি আমরা একটি নির্দিষ্ট সময় ধরে গণতান্ত্রিক প্রক্রিয়াটি চালু রাখতে পারি,
we will surely be able to bring change,"
তাহলে আমরা অবশ্যই পরিবর্তন আনতে সক্ষম হব,”
he said at a meeting with editors and journalists of new outlets in Dhaka today.
আজ ঢাকায় নতুন গণমাধ্যমের সম্পাদক ও সাংবাদিকদের সঙ্গে এক বৈঠকে তিনি এসব কথা বলেন।
Tarique stressed on democratic process,
তারেক গণতান্ত্রিক প্রক্রিয়ার ওপর জোর দিয়ে বলেন,
"whether at the national level or the local level, including union parishad elections, municipal elections, or even elections of trade bodies".
“জাতীয় পর্যায় হোক বা স্থানীয় পর্যায়—ইউনিয়ন পরিষদ নির্বাচন, পৌরসভা নির্বাচন, এমনকি বাণিজ্য সংগঠনগুলোর নির্বাচনও এর অন্তর্ভুক্ত।”
Urging members of all political parties and people across society to remain engaged,
সমাজের সর্বস্তরের মানুষ ও সব রাজনৈতিক দলের সদস্যদের সক্রিয় থাকার আহ্বান জানিয়ে,
Tarique said that, as a political worker, he sees many tough challenges ahead.
তারেক বলেন, একজন রাজনৈতিক কর্মী হিসেবে তিনি সামনে অনেক কঠিন চ্যালেঞ্জ দেখতে পাচ্ছেন।
