However, the government has not yet recognized this subject as part of the official curriculum at the higher secondary level. Despite this, the department at Moulvibazar Government College continues to make significant contributions by organizing and managing various sports and athletic events, which serve as key extracurricular activities for students. These events not only encourage physical activity but also instill values such as sportsmanship, perseverance, and leadership among students. The Department of Physical Education at Moulvibazar Government College was established in 2005. Since its inception, the department has been dedicated to fulfilling its responsibilities with excellence. With the unwavering support of students, faculty, and administrative staff, the department has consistently upheld its mission of fostering a culture of fitness and sportsmanship within the college. Over the years, it has organized numerous sports tournaments, fitness programs, and other related activities that contribute to the holistic development of the students. All students who have completed their name registration for any event are instructed to be present at the Student Common Room of the college at the scheduled time.

The regular students of Class XI (2025–2026) and Class XII (2024–2025) of Moulvibazar Government College are hereby informed that the Sports Committee of the Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education, Sylhet, in its 1st meeting dated 12.11.2025, has decided to organize the Inter-College Sports Competition.
Students interested in participating in the above-mentioned competition are instructed to register their names in the prescribed form at the Student Common Room by 17.11.2025.

2. Girls: Volleyball, Chess, and Badminton (Singles & Doubles)

This is to inform all teachers, staff, and students of Moulvibazar Government College that the final match of the Inter-College Football Tournament 2025 will be held on 22nd January 2025 at 2:30 PM at the M. Saifur Rahman Stadium.
The match will be played between Moulvibazar Government College and Kashinath Alauddin High School and College.
Everyone is invited to enjoy the game and cheer for the players.

Moulvibazar Government College is pleased to announce that an Inter-Department T-10 Cricket Tournament will be held to celebrate Victory Day 2024.
The tournament will feature a total of 16 teams, including:
14 teams from Bachelor (Honors) departments,
1 team from Bachelor (Degree Pass) 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Year combined, and
1 team from Higher Secondary (11th-12th Grade).
To participate, each team must submit a list of 15 players, along with the name of the supervising teacher and the signature of the department head. Submissions should be made to the Student Common Room no later than January 5, 2025.
For interested players from the Degree Pass course and Higher Secondary classes, please contact Mosammot Nurun Nahar, the Physical Education Teacher, to form your team.
