On 27th October 2025, the Department of Development Studies, Islamic University, Bangladesh, successfully organized an insightful event titled "From Data to Narrative: The Art of Report Writing." The keynote speaker was Professor Dr. Taiabur Rahman, Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Professor at the Department of Development Studies, University of Dhaka.
The event focused on enhancing students’ academic and professional writing skills by bridging the gap between data interpretation and effective report presentation. The session also included interactive discussions where participants engaged in analyzing examples of report structures, data presentation techniques, and storytelling methods.

The Department of Development Studies, in collaboration with the Development Studies Club - DSC has successfully organized two impactful programmes that created remarkable learning opportunities for students.
The first event was a research workshop titled “Sparking Knowledge: Qualitative Research Core Workshop.” Chaired by Chairman Atifa Kafi, the workshop provided a strong platform for students to deepen their understanding of qualitative research methods. The keynote speakers were Professor Dr. M. Asaduzzaman and Dr. Mohammad Zulfiquar Hossain from the Department of Public Administration, IU, who shared their valuable insights and expertise to guide young students.
Alongside this, the Club also arranged a career-focused session entitled “Future Leaders for Social Change: Career in NGO.” This programme was also chaired by Chairman Atifa Kafi, featured distinguished representatives from leading development organizations. MD. Luckman Sharif from Environment and Social Development Organization -ESDO, Dr. MD. Sabbir Rahman from BRAC, and Mosaddek Bin Shorif from WaterAid Bangladesh shared their professional experiences, career journeys, and advice for students aspiring to work in the NGO and development sector.
