The Department of Information & Communication Technology of Islamic University in Kushtia is the pioneer department in that name in Bangladesh.The Department started functioning of Islamic University in 1998. Information and Communication Technology (ICT) prepares pupils to participate in a rapidly changing world in which work and other activities are increasingly transformed by access to varied a
nd developing technology. They should learn how to employ ICT to enable rapid access to ideas and experiences from a wide range of people, communities and cultures. Increased capability in the use of ICT can promote initiative and independent learning, with pupils being able to make informed judgments about when and where to use ICT to best effect, and to consider its implications for home and work both now and in the future. The Department of Information & Communication Engineering started functioning of the Islamic University in 1998. This department is to form an excellent integration of electrical, electronics, computer and telecommunication engineering for creating efficient, dynamic and multitask-ed professional in the arena of IT and Telecommunication in Bangladesh and abroad. Founding Chairman Professor Dr. Md. Ekin Uddin, a reputed professor and ex-dean of the faculty of Applied Science & Technology. There are fifteen full-time faculty in the department:
