The Department of English is the oldest department of the faculty of Humanities & Social Science of Islamic University. It started functioning at the inception of the University in January 17, 1991. Founding Chairman S.M.Mustafizur Rahman is a reputed Professor. Islamic University is one of the major public universities in Bangladesh and the largest seat of higher education in the south-west part of the country.
