Centennial Nabin Chandra (N.C) High Schools holds the glory of Secondary education at Kulaura Upozila in Moulvibazar which is one of the hubs of the Sylhet region. The abbreviation of Nabin (N) Chandra (C) is N.C (in brief) High School. It is very tough for me to find out the real history of the establishment of the institution. Because there is none in this locality who knows the initial history
of the foundation of it. It is said by the superior and sagacious inhabitants that the school was established in 1894 by the name of Kulaura M (Medium) E (English) School. The location of that Kulaura M.E School was in the eastern side of rail line. But it is a matter of great regret that nobody knows the actual name of the first or founder Headmaster and donor of the land for the establishment of that school. Later on the schools turned into Kulaura Aided Junior School and the place of the school was moved or shifted by the people of interested education of this area in 1909. Now the schools is located at Alalpur which is a junction and joining place or point of Mouvibazar district, Juri, Borlekha and Beanibazar upazila, Muriechori Border Via- Robir Bazar, Gazipur tea garden, Kality tea garden Rehana tea garden and Gogan Tila of Gazipur. Satyandra Kumar Sen became the headmaster of Kulaura Aided Junior School. The school was run successfully by the Headmaster, Mr. Satyandra kumar Sen up to 1927. Subsequently Sree Nogendra Kumar Chowdhury B.A (Honours) B.T. was installed in the place of Mr. Satyandra Kumar Sen. The Metriculation stage i.e Secondary Education was commenced by his “extraordinary performance and credit” under the Education Board of Calcutta in 1928. During the tenure the institution became famous. After wards Sree Pranesh Chandra Kar B.A (Honours) B.T held the post of “Headmaster”. Pranesh Chandra Kar was versatile genius. He was also a scholar in a word having all qualities of an ideal teacher and administration. His students were spelt-bound to his lucid and relevant lecture regarding respective subject. He was also able to teach all subjects off hand. His students, colleagues and neighbours attracted his extra-ordinary and aristocratic behaviors, costume, manner, personality and performance. He carried on his responsibility as a Headmaster up to 1976. At a late of time the responsibility of the administrator came to distinguished educationist Mohammad Aman Ullah M.A (Double) B.Ed who was an education officer in the beginning stage. He is known to all as an amiable and amicable person. He is also intellectual and enlightened. His magnetic technique and lucid lecture attracted the students. So his students, colleagues and the authority of the school were entirely satisfied with him. Later on the responsibly of the post went to the shoulder of renowned English teacher Mr. Abdul Basith Chowdhury. He performed his duty as a Headmaster in charge from 04-05-2003 to 23-02-2005. Subsequently the charge of the Headmasterof this school was taken over by efficient teacher Mr. Abu Hossain Azad. He was an acting headmaster up to 22nd March 2006. The above mentioned all were born at Kulaura. But the present Headmaster Md. Amir Hossain who took over the responsibility on the 23rd March 2006 was in Chittagong. He has to face various obstructions in order to cope with the environment. He is trying his level best to progress the institution with the assistance of the subordinate teacher, Managing Committee and elite inhabitance of this locality. The results of this school are praiseworthy. Of late the average results of the school are around 90% (percent).
