Parallel Cine Movement (PCM) is the leading film research & video production organization in Khulna, Bangladesh. We address regional heritage, environment & youth empowerment. PCM's ACHIEVEMENTS:
1. To date, PCM has produced more than 250 films & videos.
2. PCM is working on a unique concept, ‘Gono-Cinema’. Under the concept, Kashempur villagers made a debut film titled `The Roots’ in 2022. PCM al
so organized film workshops and camps in villages.
3. About 275 students participated in more than 34 film workshops.
4. About 125 types of films have been shown in 75 film shows, and the number of viewers is 1125.
5. PCM has a strong network with like-minded cultural organizations. MISSION:

The goal of PCM, Khulna, is to provide local talents with the tools & knowledge they currently lack, to increase their skill and groom their idea through film, and to foster a community film industry that will represent the interests of local audiences and popularize Gono-cinema into broader national and international film territory. PCM's PROJECTS ARE:
01. GONO-CINEMA MOVEMENT:
Gono Cinema is a concept of a community-based filmmaking process. We believe in the empowerment of common people.
02. FILM LITERACY TOUR (School & Colleges)
Film Literacy Tour has been the mother project of PCM since 2014. Screening better films among a wide range of people both urban and rural to provide entertainment and develop their intellectual level. The goals of this project are to increase the level of awareness, inquisitiveness, creativity, and intellect through film literacy activities among school and college students. Making and grooming cinema crews from the community level will make the broader space for community film movement (Gono Cinema). Throughout the activities, there will be research on traditional, indigenous popular cultural tools for telling stories.
03. KHULNA YOUNG FILMMAKER GROUP:
The Khulna Young Filmmaker group project is an important project of PCM for the young and enthusiastic filmmaker group in Khulna. PCM wants to provide local talents with the tools & knowledge they currently lack, increase skills and groom their idea through film, and foster a community film industry.
