Department of Materials Science and Engineering,KUET Currently, the department offers Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in engineering degree and intakes 60 students. There is no engineering without materials.

Materials Science and Engineering (MSE) department at Khulna University of Engineering & Technology (KUET) has established in 2016 under the faculty of Electrical and Electronic Engineering. MSE is the study of the structure—processing—properties relationships of engineering materials. Modern MSE encompasses a broad range of materials, from traditional metallurgy to biological materials, polymers, ceramics, semiconductors, composites, and optical and magnetic materials, as well as numerous nanotechnology materials. MSE graduates can be found employed in almost all fields of human endeavor. Followings are the vision and mission of the department:

Our Vision:

The vision of the Materials Science and Engineering (MSE) department is to provide education in MSE to meet national needs, to conduct interdisciplinary research that creates materials for tomorrow’s innovative technologies, to be at the forefront of the international materials community in developing strategies to overcome evolving material challenges and to be the leading MSE department worldwide. Our Mission:

Create a stimulating and nurturing educational environment broadly preparing students at all levels for successful careers;

Advance a fundamental understanding of materials properties, processing, and applications by performing leading edge, world class research;

Train the most highly valued materials science and engineering students in the nation; Lead the advanced materials effort at Khulna University of Engineering & Technology;

Professionalism and leadership in contemporary, interdisciplinary engineering practice based on materials, while accounting for the impact of their profession on an evolving, global society;

Promote a greater understanding of the role of materials science in society; and actively participate in national and international professional societies.

The Prize Giving Ceremony of the MSE Department Futsal and Cricket Tournament was successfully held in the presence of our honourable Head Sir and respected teachers of the department.

Organized by the Students’ Association of MSE, the event ended beautifully with excitement, joy, and memorable moments for everyone.

Congratulations to all the winners and participants for making the tournament enjoyable and competitive.

📢 Announcement: MSE Intra-Department Futsal Tournament 2026 Organized by Students Association of Department of Materials Science and Engineering,KUET

The MSE Intra-Department Futsal Tournament 2026, which was originally scheduled to be held on 2nd–4th April, could not take place due to some unavoidable circumstances.We are pleased to inform you that the tournament has now been rescheduled and will be held on 24th–25th April at the KUET Central Field.
⚽ Important Notice:

1.The bidding process will begin tomorrow evening.
2.All students of the MSE Department are kindly requested to be present and actively participate in the bidding.
3.Everyone is also encouraged to start preparing for the tournament.
