১৯৪৭ সনের ভারত বিভাগের পূর্বে অত্র ভূখন্ডে সাধারন শিক্ষার পথ উন্মোচন ও সম্প্রসারনের জন্য যে সফল ব্যক্তির নাম স্বর্নাক্ষরে লেখা আছে অত্র বিদ্যালয়ের প্রতিষ্ঠাতা বাবু হরিপদ বিশ্বাস তাদের মধ্যে অন্যতম। এলাকার জ্ঞানী-গুনী-হিন্দু মুসলমান ব্যক্তিদের সমন্বয়ে তাঁর নেতৃত্বে ১৯৩৮ সনে বিদ্য

ালয়ে প্রতিষ্ঠিত হয়। দেশ বিভাগের পর রাজনৈতিক অস্থিতিশীলতার জন্য কয়েক বৎসর বিদ্যালয় বন্ধ হয়ে যায়। অতঃপর ১৯৬৮ সনে হাজী আবু বকর গাজীসহ অন্যান্য সমাজ সেবকদের উদ্যোগে বিদ্যালয় পুনরায় প্রান ফিরে পায়। অত্র বারাকপুর মাধ্যমিক বিদ্যালয় হইতে বহুসংখ্যক গুনী শিক্ষার্থী ডাক্তার ইঞ্জিনিয়ার প্রফেসর সরকারী কর্মকর্তা বিদ্যাঅর্জন পূর্বক দেশ সেবায় ব্রত আছেন। বর্তমান প্রধান শিক্ষক মহোদয় ও স্কুল পরিচালনা কমিটির সম্মানিত সভাপতি বাবু শিবনাথ কর সহ সদস্যবৃন্দ ও সুশিক্ষিত শিক্ষকবৃন্দের নিরলস কর্ম তৎপরতায় ঐতিহ্যের সহিত পাঠদানসহ ক্রীড়া ও অন্যান্য সাংস্কৃতিক কর্ম-কান্ড বয়েজ স্কাউট গালর্স ইন গাইড পরিচালনায় ব্যস্ত থাকেন। ৮ম শ্রেনীতে বৃত্তি এস, এস, সি পরীক্ষায় অ+ সহ শিক্ষার্থীরা যথেষ্ট কৃতিত্বের দাবীদার। সরকারী সাহায্য সহানুভূতি পেলে শিক্ষা প্রসারে বিদ্যালয়টি ছাত্র/ছাত্রীদের শিক্ষা প্রসারে অবদান রাখবে।
