Vernalization/Yarovisation:Acceleration of the ability to flower by a chilling treatment.This was first realised by klippart( 1857) when he found that the winter wheat could be converted into spring wheat.If seeds after slight germination were kept at low temp.(0-5 degree). This chilling treatment was termed as vernalization by a Russian geneticist,Lysenko. Due to short resulting in an
early flowering.

The cold stimulus is perceived by the apical meristems and Roots or leaves may be potential site of Yarovisation.

Presence of a floral hormone or (vernalin named by melchers).

The perception of The Cold stimulus results in the formation of a floral hormone which is transmitted to other part of plant.Even transmitted to another plant across agraft union.

4..** Important factor for vernalization :

A. Age of plant.
- in Rosette stage and have completed at least 10 days of growth.

B.Appropriate low temperature( suitable ranges 1-6 degree).

C.Duration of treatment is about one and a half months or more.

D Oxygen
E.water

5.** Mechanism of vernalization.

1. phasic development theory(.by Lysenko)
- thermophase
-photophase

2. Hormonal theories. (by lang and melchers.)

Accroding to this scheme, The precursor A is converted into a thermolabile compound B during cold treatment. After under normal conditions B changes into C which ultimately causes flowering.

But at high temp. B is converted into D and flowering does not Take place is called Devernalization.

6.**importance of vernalization

a. Shortens the vegetative period of the plants
b.increases the cold resistance of the plants
c.increases the resistance of plants to fungal diseases.

কালকাসুন্দা( cassia sophera)

এর বীজগুলি তিতা স্বাদ যুক্ত হয় । এটি হুপিং কফ, মূত্রবর্ধক হিসাবে, লিভারের অসুখে ব্যবহার করা হয়। পূর্ণবয়স্ক কলকাসুন্দা সাত ফুট পর্যন্ত লম্বা হতে পারে। তবে গড় উচ্চতা ভাঁটফুলের চেয়ে কিছু বেশি। পাঁচ ফুটের মতো হয়। কলকাসুন্দার কাণ্ডের রং গাঢ় সবুজ ও বেশ শক্ত। বড় কলকাসুন্দার কাণ্ডের বেড় ৫ ইঞ্চি পর্যন্ত হতে পারে। কাণ্ডের নিচের দিক থেকেই অসংখ্য ডালপালা বের হতে দেখা যায়।কলকাসুন্দার পাতার রং গাঢ় সবুজ। কঁচি পাতা সাদটে সবুজ। যৌগিক, বহপত্রক। একটা বোঁটায় ৫-১০ জোড়া পাতা থাকে। বোঁটার দৈর্ঘ্য ১০-১২ ইঞ্চি। পাতার দৈর্ঘ্য ১.৫-২ ইঞ্চি। এর ফুল সোনালি-হলুদ রঙের, মঞ্জরী ও বোঁটা হলদেটে সবুজ। মঞ্জরী বহুপুষ্কক। একটা মঞ্জরীতে ৫-১০ টা ফুল থাকতে পারে। ফুলের ব্যাস ১ ইঞ্চি। একটা ফুলে ৫ টা পাঁপড়ি থাকে। সাধারণত ফাগুনের শুরতেই ফুল ফুটতে শুরু করে।

গুনাগুণ সম্পাদনা
ঔষুধের জন্য ব্যবহার করা হয় পাতা, ফুল অথবা মূল সমেত সমগ্র গাছ। রক্তে দোষ দূর করতে এর পাতার রস মিসরির সাথে প্রতিদিন সকালে খেলে উপকার হবে।
