đ¨ New Publication Alert! đĨđ
We are delighted to share that our research article, âOccupational Heat Risk Perceptions and Behavioral Adaptation Strategies among Construction and Welding Workers in Bangladesh,â has been published in Scientific Reports, Nature Portfolio (Q1, IF-3.9). https://www.nature.com/articles/s41598-026-53118-x
In a warming world, outdoor workers are on the frontline of climate change. Yet their struggles often remain invisible. Through this study, we documented the heat-related vulnerabilities, health symptoms, and adaptation behaviors among construction and welding workers in Bangladesh.
đ Key findings revealed:
âĒī¸ Over 80% of workers perceived themselves vulnerable to extreme heat
âĒī¸ Workers frequently reported sweating, thirst, cramps, irritability, and emotional instability
âĒī¸ Occupational heat-safety awareness and training remain critically limited
This work highlights an urgent need for climate-responsive occupational health policies and stronger protection for vulnerable workers in LMICs.
Grateful to all co-authors, collaborators, and participants who contributed to this journey. đ
