BSC (HONS) COMPUTER SCIENCE

COURSE INTRODUCTION

The Bachelor of Science (Hons) Computer Science is specifically designed to develop student with a strong foundation and skills that seek changing world of Computer and IT.

Computer science range from theory through programming to cutting-edge development of computing solutions. Computer science offers a foundation that permits graduates to adapt to new technologies and new ideas. This program will enable students to become knowledgeable in the design of software and to acquire foundational knowledge of the mathematics that can be applied to all aspects of software design, development and verification.

At the end of the program students will have gained an appreciation of the foundations of computation, an understanding of the structure of programming languages, the skills to put these concepts and technologies into practice, and the know-how to utilize hardware to its fullest potential

Objective of the course:

Analyze deeply that a computer-based system developed satisfies the criteria defined for the current and future development.
Describe and evaluate various protocols and networking technologies.
Understand the concept of a database and will be able to use and build a small database.
Select and exploit data structure suitable for specific needs.
Demonstrate an understanding of the syntax and features found in modern programming languages and be able to evaluate, select an appropriate programming language and use it effectively.
Develop software that can manipulate data in a database.

Entry requirement :

HSC/ALIM from SCIENCE GROUP
Passed (STPM) with at least two (2) Principal: And
Passed (SPM) with at least a credit in three (3) subjects including Mathematics and one (1) other subjects related to Science / Technical / Vocational and pass in English; or
Passed the 'A' Levels, Matriculation, Foundation or Pre-university program with a minimum grade of C for two (2) subjects including Mathematics and one (1) of the other subjects Physics / Chemistry; or
Diploma in Computer Science / IT or equivalent with (CGPA) 2:00 of Higher Education (APA) recognized by the Malaysian Government; or
Other qualifications recognized by the Malaysian government.
