ion. This school is situated in the district of Habiganj (North East Bangladesh), Thana of Bahubol, within the village Kalapur and Khagaura. It is located next to Khagaura (or Roisganj) Bazaar and is surrounded by very densely populated villages of Nowagaw, Omrita, Alipur, Ilampur. The foundation stone was laid by the late Social Development Minister Mr. Enamul Haque Mustafa Shohid MP (Bangladesh) and other dignitaries. The H A Wahid High was set up and is maintained by Shafi and a few close friends and relatives from the United Kingdom and the charity Life Plus is amongst its lifelong supporters, whose support cannot be underestimated. Building work first started in 2012 however its journey started long before when Shafi realised that the only educational facility was a religious establishment and nothing else, children after their Primary education had nowhere to go and the only place for secondary education as many miles away through a dangerous road often known as the “highway of death”. The areas 20,000 strong population are generally poor hence the need for a secondary school. School stared its doors in 2013 with just one building and less than a 100 students, three years later it has 3 buildings and an boast of having 571 students, supported by a 11 dedicated staff headed by the most experience head teacher Mr. Purpose of this school is simply to provide formal but high quality education for all specially the most poorest of children and the orphans and the destitute so that they can equip themselves with the knowledge and tools required to have bright and better future. God willing one day we hope to extend the school into a college for further education!
